Top flite corsair conversion.
Hi folks, I have a top flite corsair 60-90 size that I would like to convert. At present, she has a DLE 20 under the cowl, swinging a 17x6 three blade prop. Does anyone know the formula to find out how many watts I need, or has anyone any experience with electrifing this particular plane. She weighs in at around 10 or 11 pounds, I think. Thanks in advance for any info. Steve.

RE: Top flite corsair conversion.
I have been going with about 125W/lb. But I have been working with 4 lb and under airplanes, don't know about an 11 pounder.

Here's mine. Runs a Hobby King Turnigy 63-64A 280 kv motor, Suppo 100 amp esc, and Castle bec, on 9 cells, swings a 14x10x3 blade prop.
If memory serves me pulls around 60 amps, 14 pounds of thrust, and somewhere around 75 mph.
Did her up to look like the Reno Racer.

Wow don, looks like a great set up. How many watts? I already powered mine, but haven't got the chance to fly yet. I'm way over powered. Hopefully mine flies half as good as yours. I'm getting ready to start the sea fury kit and will be starting to get stuff I need soon. That set up may be exactly what I get after seeing that. Thanks for sharing that. Steve.
