Sig Fazer (rudder stab)
Hi there' I am building a Sig its my first build, I have just about finished the build I have a few concerns about the rudder, how it is just glued on no slotting for it to sit in ! I feel that it will snap easy, has anyone built one of these models before and did you have any prob's with the rudder ?

Looks like your right... if you were really worried about it you could add some bracing, however with the amount of time this kit has been out and I don't see many threads about the rudder breaking off in flight... I'd think that its probably ok built stock... just make sure you have a solid joint and clamp it while it dries...

RE: Sig Fazer
SIG does the same thing on the LT-40 I built. The tail held quite well for me until I parked in the canopy of a large tree and my son used the vertical stab/rudder to pull it free. I ended up adding a little triangle balsa stock on each side when I reattached it. I fly my LT-40 leisurely doing nothing more aggressive than loops, a little inverted flight, and barrel rolls. If you think you'll more aggressive and put more stress on the airplane go ahead and add a little reinforcement, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

An easy mod is to add 2 or 3 small hardwood dowel pins glued into the bottom member of the vert. stab framing and extending down through holes in the top of the fuse and into the center section of the horiz. stab.

RE: Sig Fazer (rudder stab)
I'm finishing one of these now. I added 3 small wood pins as mentioned above. In addition, I added some small tri-stock to widen the matting surfaces and a few small corner gussets in the fin assy. The plane was intended to be flown as a park flyer and if you plan on taking it up the the sub-sonic speeds w/ high-G maneuvers, a stock build will be fine. The only reason why I "beefed" mine up was because I'm using a Saito 56 with a 8oz tank. A few more ounces in gross weight is what I'm accounting for in snapy maneuvers. I would also suggest changing out the CA hinges for nylon ones. I used a combination of Dubro small and standard nylon hinges.

I flew mine like I stole it! The CA hinges worked fine. I had mine for 5 years before I made a smoking hole. The rudder was a stock setup. I'm sure I lost mine due to a fuel soaked plane. My Fazer took lots of abuse for years. Enjoy it, there fun to fly. I replaced my Fazer with a MoJo and the fun really started.
