Can anyone please tell me what the three small buttons on the transmitter are for ?
The unit I have is marked Sender Radio Control, R/C Series, Speciality Model.
The buttons have an OK in a circle, a diagonal stroke in a circle and a wavy arrow above 12345678.
Thanks in advance.

All Hen Long tanks have a unique feature that started all the way back to their first Type 90.
This is a programmable movement feature.
You can pre program a certain number of movements (not sure about fire) into the tank and then the tank will reproduce these movements.
Sorta neat feature , I used to program one tank and then use it for target practice with another.

Thanks, I'll have to keep a look out for manual, though I ca't see I'll ever need to program any moves.
This Tiger came from Ebay and following a morning in the shop is now nearly back to working condition. The only thing left to fix is a wierd problem with the gun elevattion system.
As soon as the tank is turned on, the gun elevation motor runs continuously at about half speed. Using the control can speed it up but I can't seem to stop it.

Hi,
I am new to this board and do not speak German so apologies if this goes astray or replies to the wrong thread.
I have a Heng Long tiger 1 fresh out of the box yesterday.
I have charged up the NiCad battery (11 hours) and loaded the RC unit with batteries.
I have switched on the RC unit (Power light red) and switched on the tank, however the headlights just flash (no control).
Any ideas?
All suggestions greatfully received.
Thanks,
Will

Thanks, but something more fundamental I think - the lights are on - flashing but no movement.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Will

the lights flash when you turn "on" the switch at bottom of tank, they should stop flashing when you press "start" on the controller, also when your battery is just about out of juice they will flash( maybe try a different battery in tank, as HL batteries are total krap!).......also, maybe your transmitter/controller is bad?

Hi,
I've changed the battery, but no success - is there a trouble shooting guide where I can systematically check wires connections etc to identify the problem?
Thanks,
Will

You may not want to hear this, but if you have tried new a battery pack in the tank and there are no obvious problems, you might just want to send that tank back, immediately. Many of these tanks seem to arrive to buyers with some sort of factory defect (mine did) and unless you are a whizz with electronic boards, you probably will not be able to sort the problem out.......even with help from the guys on this forum.
I suggest that you send it back before you go messing around with the tank and ruin your chances of getting a replacement. However, if you still want to try to fix the problem yourself, read a few of these posts for some clues:

Hi, I'm on tank number three. The first threw a track and cracked the idler wheel housing. The second had the problem you described (turn on lights flash but nothing else works, the third works a treat. In each case the supplier swapped the tank with no questions or hassle. I am chuffed with the one I now have and have just fitted metal gearboxes and tracks.
