Hi picard1
So what happend? Did I miss something? Was that your first twin? Learn anything? I have always been interested in twins. I had one but could not relax while waiting for one engine to stop. Finally converted it to a pusher puller. A lot more fun. Less tension.

I lost an aileron servo arm screw, metal geared servo using blue loctite and it still worked loose. Lost it on final approach, I think I powered back to much trying to compensate for the sluggish aileron response and she stalled and rolled over hit the blacktop.

That was one fine lookin' craft; I know how you're feeling, too. I'm about to build/assemble my third one. And, the first two weren't anywhere close to what you put together. I know that we're not supposed to "grieve" over a lost craft, but you can't have put the time and thought into one, even if it's an ARF, without being a bit p------ed off when something like a screw puts ya' out of business. Good luck w/ the next one.

It's always hard after they hit the tarmac to pick-up all thoses pieces and not consider all the time spent modifying a project into something that is a little more personal or a "One Off" plane. However, I alway's enjoy the challenge and satisfaction this hobby brings and I have already moved on to a Dual Ace project starting with a canopy modification that I will be posting soon.

Other than Loctite "Blue or Red" What other products is everyone using to secure servo arm screws with metal geared servos? I was thinking of trying CA?

Thanks again for all the kind words regarding The late Twinstar....

picard1, by chance do your servos use a machine screw thread for the control arm? If so, you could either drill yourself, or buy drilled head socket cap screws. Then safety wire the screw to the servo arm. Something like this:

KMOT,
Thanks for the links. I'll take a look at them this evening. The cap screw with saftey wire sounds like a great idea....
