Wow, for 680 I'd definetly get one. That one there almost makes me kind of wonder if HPI has someone make their T and they just brand it as theirs, because even the box looks like the HPI

RE: Rovan Baja Terminator
I deleted all posts insinuating that this member is shilling for, or is EngageRC. I also removed the initial pictures that bear engagerc's web address.
For the record Kostenko, I do not believe you are the member that posts for EngageRC. The reason I do not believe this is because a trace on your IP address reveals your router location to be the Netherlands. While that can be faked, it's not actually as easy as people think, and I doubt EngageRC himself would bother with that kind of stuff just to post a few images.
Anyway, bottom line is that those images are advertising a company that has already had way too much free advertising in our forums, and I'm afraid I cannot leave them up with that huge web address there in the middle.
On a final note, be careful when ordering stuff from Engage, I know for a fact he is telling people that he has stuff in stock which has not even been manufactured yet.

Hi Foxy,
I just renewed and placed my own picture and u are exactly right that i don't have anything to do with engage rc.
As far as i know he even hasn't got these cars in stock.
Sorry for my mistake...
So if you have any questions just pm me and that saves you the affort of tracing while all info in my registration is legit.
And the pictures shown from another forum member are not from the Baja Terminator.

RE: Rovan Baja Terminator
Maybe it's just the conspiracy theorist in me, but I now think that HPI is in the tank with these guys. The 5B was one thing, ok, maybe HPI's contract manufacturer in Taiwan or China slipped all of the design files or the molds through the back door to another shop and they were made illegally. Now that I see that there are all of these new clone parts to make the 5T clone, HPI either has the worst vendor qualification process ever or they are aware of the clones and use the clones to sell into China which they couldn't otherwise do.
Maybe HPI doesn't have worldwide distribution so they only way they can have worldwide distribution outside of their channels is to have this 'clone' to sell into markets where they don't have distribution, like for instance China. I saw that HPI very recently setup a site, HPI China which is interesting. Companies can't just sell into China without China government approval. So, HPI realizes that China is a huge market and as they are trying to setup a deal with the Chicoms to sell into the China legit, they are selling these clones through a local company in China with a local name. Even though some of the cars get imported into the U.S., the missed sales doesn't matter to HPI when compared to the volume sales and opportunity in China.
It makes perfect sense to me now.

What does 15% less US sales mean when you have another market available with 1,000,000,000 people? If I am HPI, I want a piece of the Chinese market, even if it has a small impact on the US market.
