Default OS 65AX & exhaust length

I have an 65AX that I have installed in a Hangar 9 Denight Special. For an exhaust I have a Bisson Pitts muffler. My question is does exhaust tube length greatly affect engine perfomance? I want to cut the exhaust tubes shorter and then add on custom length tubes that would be approximately 6 inches longer and swept back and down thru the rear of the cowl. Will this affect my warranty on a new engine and will itbe a detriment toperfomance?
Thanks,
lumpy

You'll be fine. Just adjust the needles as the engine requires. The exhaust system is not critical when it's not a tuned system as long as it allows plenty of flow-through.
