    Superchargers?? Turbochargers???

I had an idea, a supercharger or turbocharger for large scale rc car/rc plane gas/petrol. I recently acquired a HPI baja 30cc....and want more power...anyone produce superchargers or turbochargers at all for rc vehicles???

I was also thinking to make my own using an ESC cooling fan and make one as being a ducted fan forced charger but I really doubt it would produce enough PSI to even keep the engine running, anybody got any ideas???

in order to produce boost you need a proper impeller clearanced correctly to the housing... a cooling fan just moves air it can't pressurise it

well the carb only lets air and fuel in at certain times, so if i have tube between the carb and the fan, it will pressurize the air when the air isnt going into the cylinder... plan is to tune the engine so its rich, then the fan will provide the extra air needed.to make it a perfect mixture again, so that means more fuel and air in the cylinder and a bigger bang...and hopefully more power

I have already seen the RB innovations one, but for a 30cc gasser, the mounting is all wrong, and yes the price is very steep indeed

So techniquallymy idea is acuallynot a supercharger or turbocharger as it doesn't provide boost, just something to provide extra are to a rich mixture to lean it out at a point where it has extra of the mixture in the cylinder resulting in a bigger bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you are thinking about something like the boost bottle that already exists and as the turbo and compressor no one agrees as to which works or not.

    RE: Superchargers?? Turbochargers???

Well I now know why a supercharger/turbocharger will not work but if you had something to provide some extr air to a very rich mixture, which wil result in more fuel in the cylinder, to lean it out again, it would give a bigger bang because of the extra fuel and resulting in more power, I cannot see a reason as to why this would not work, but than again I am no expert on 2 strokers....Anyone tell me if this would work

other than forced induction to provide extra air the only other way is by way of power adders...ie, nitrous. the engine can only take in it's volume when just using atmospheric pressure to fill the cylinder...the only other way to cram more air in is either by a pressurizing it, cooling it big time thus making it more dense, or adding a free oxygen rich liguid or gas...a simple fan will do none of those

F#@* it then, I will go find a little four stroker with some valves and use that then
