Looking good peter! Is that chopped glass you put over the surface coat and then use glass cloth?

Hi Thomas, yep a mix of chopped glass and cotton cloth scattered on the wet gelcoat. After drying just shake it off and then glass cloth on it.

Cleared the mold from 'snow' and this is what stays behind, a surface ready for glass.

Two molds, one has a piece of the F100 (blue part) and the other the Turkey feathers.

New mold , very happy with the outcome. Some alu parts sticked in the mold but were easy to remove, I expected that this would happen.

They need a good cleanup but here they are .

Very tight seam here.

Hello my friend:

Very good job, congrats, now you need clean the molds and make the first exhaust !!!

Which color do you apply over the mold for get the pieces ? Silver, grey, white... ?

My first I made in metallic grey but the paint not was opaque enought, the white is perfect, but the silver is ideal.

What you do think ?

Regards from Spain.
Carlos.

Hi Carlos, thanks man for the compliment. Are you making progress to?

For the pieces I want to use white 2k primer but need to test this If it affects the sealer in the mold. I have 2ltr heat resistant alupaint and perhaps I spray the first nozzle with it just for testing with the color.

Greetings,
Peter

looking fantastic peter! I have found metallics (especially silver) need a back coating of another color to give a uniform color depth. I have since given up on the silvers and just prime in the mold, as the seams typically need a little clean-up anyways

I know this one Carlos, Gerald has converted his new scalejets F16 to a B version. That works quicker than my project [&:].

I am getting competition with this B version so have to set a higher standard on my future kit.
