The wires certainly add a lot to it Robert. They make a beautiful plane look just that much better. Really classy lookin if I might say so my self. What's the count down to the " biggin"?

When it get's here and I have no idea when that will be. There is no tracking, suppose to be but, there's not. Vogelsang-Aeroscale says the kit will probably be here before I get the tracking. So one day I will have a nice surprise.

Just watched a Stearman buzzing the neighbors farm. Looks like the guy was having a good time.
Later!!

RE: Andy Sheber Pitts s1s
A final update: I went flying today, this Pitts is a real joy. After a couple good fights today I can say this thing is very stable, it can be gentle or somewhat acrobaticol (not like an Ultimate), slow or fast. Nothing like I was expecting. Take offs do require very good rudder ability from the pilot and landings are getting much easier. Just had to get a feel for the girl. Well I have a feel for it and love it. Again, thank's to everyone for their help, advice, and just hanging around. I hope this thread has helped others as well as it has myself.Ok! I'm off to the big one!!

RE: Andy Sheber Pitts s1s
Hi guy's
need some expert help
I have been lucky enough to find & buy a PILOT 1/3.5 Pitts S2A kit. NIB.
can anyone tell me the true wingspan of the S2A ?
what should the span of my kit be?
I also need some advice on an engine for it
I would prefer a 4st twin
would a SAITO 300 Twin do this model justice ?
I have also had a look at the LASER V360 Twin
yes I do want excellent vertical !
pls help

Welcome markinhedland to wonderful world of the Pitts. The factory specs are 20' for the S2A which equates out to 68.57" for your model. As for power I would go with the most that will fit in the cowl.

I think if you want the MacDaddy of engines for that plane this Saito four stroke would be perfect, http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...ke-bg-SAIEG57T . With a Biella or APC 22x8 prop it would be pure power.

Hey Markinhedland,
Roto makes a 85cc four stroke opposed twin that is an incredible engine. It will turn up to a 26x8 two blade prop, I believe. I've seen a video of the motor in a 50cc Top Flite FW-190 ARF and it pulls the Butcher Bird around with authority and sounds AWESOME to boot. I'm just not sure it will fit in your Pitts.
Good luck with your motor search.
Take care,
David

David is right, the ROTO's are nice as well. The 85cc is 10.4" wide, would be close depending on your cowl, but at $1830 plus s&h. Not to mention there are none available, even ROTO themselves don't have one. Now for that kind of money the MOKI 100BVT is just under 11 inches wide and would be oh so sweet.

It has been about four months since finishing the 33% Pitts. And I thought I would give one last update. It is awesome!! I heard a lot of horror stories about take-off and landing but have not seen them. It tracks straight, flies smooth, and will burn a hole in the sky. Don't get me wrong though, you "DO" have to fly it. The CRRC 55cc twin is more than enough power, and is as smooth as silk. The only thing I am not caring for is the vinyl striping, I wish I had taken the time to paint them.
Here is the specs of it,
No engine thrust.
Wing's at 0 degs.
Stab at 2 degs.
Final weight 22.8lbs-I think.

My Feedback: (23)
Saito 300/Pitts
Mark,
I have a Saito 300 in my Great Planes Pitts and I love the performance on 20% nitro.
It has great vertical, close to unlimited and the sound is nice. I have onboard glow on it and it idles real well although I'm thinking of coverting it to ignition in the spring.
Good flying,
paul
