Sd.Kfz 666 Uberwagen 1:16
Finished my Kubelwagen up-armored RC conversion Losi Trail Trekker chassis and 2.4 radio. Aftermarket 180 series stoker motor with higher gear reduction than stock. Locked 4WD front and rear axles. Remote MG-34 operates via 8 gram micro servo Y harnessed to the steering servo. MG-34 rotates in unison with the front tires. 7.4 volt 800 Mah Lipo 2S battery. Very long run time. Max scale speed 8 Mph. It's a crawler not a stadium truck.
Sd.Kfz 666 Uberwagen is a fictional 1945+ recon vehicle. It has a Porsche air-cooled 120 HP motor. 4WD 4 speed. Driver sits on the left, front right side gunner operating the remote MG-34 via periscope. Back seat has a vehicle commander and radio equipment. 3 man crew only. Commander reloads the MG-34 via the top hatch. Frontal and side armor 25mm
Rear armor 10mm, top armor 5MM. Bullet deflectors on front glacis. Vision slits for driver and front passenger. Vision blocks for driver and gunner mounted on roof. One vision slit left side commander. Binocular periscope for commander inside roof hatch. Power ventilator left rear on roof. Armored escape hatches over rear fenders. Armored engine bay doors. Armored front cargo doors. Run flat tires. Full size spare on right side. Ground-to-ground and ground-to air radio. Front brush guard. Armored steps and hand holds left side. 15 gallon fuel tank.
Tow hooks front and rear. Pintle hook read end. Stowage for 2 jerry cans on read end. Blackout lights. Driver overhead hatch. Can't wait to drive it around Danville and get some photos.

I bought a spare off Ebay. Yes I used the kit rims. The Losi tires fit the kit rims although the kit rims are more narrow you can us CA to glue the tire beads to the rims. Good fit and you get balloon tires when done. I had to lengthen the read drive shaft and the rear control arms.

I love builds like this, you can spend ages looking at them figuring out which bits got poached off what model
Good stuff! [8D]
