Well it has been a while since I have been on this site! Wow, a lot has changed!
I am going to be adding info about every day, so if you have any questions or suggestions , they should be answered pretty quickly.

Ok the first page came out all right!
There are always a ton of people in the "background support team" that are invaluable.
I thought before we get into "who's coming and what are you bringing?" We would do a little
"kudos intro" on some of my good friends.... that without them this event would be impossible!
Lee and Doug...they have been there since the beginning.
Leebert...what can I say?...your constant supervision for almost 10 years has kept everyone in one piece to come back the next year. (Jeff Shutic still has his finger on his hand...so technically, he left in one piece..LOL).
Your campfire (beer induced) wisdom...Is always heard and well appreciated.
Douglas-- so much work behind the scenes to get our flyers ready, the tickets printed, signage.... not to mention the flags and guard shack. All the admin help is very much appreciated!
Another one there from the start has been Jeff. He has been cooking and the focal for the pig roast from the start. Not many people get to be part of the 'R&D' work that we do....but man, that is some good eats!!! This guy brings his whole family into it with homemade BBQ sauce and all the extras.... I'm so grateful.
We'll tell more about the key players as the thread goes on... but right now, the sun is going down, the garage is cooling off...and gotta do some airplane repairs due to last year's "WATCH THIS" episode.

This year, the field will be open for guests to arrive from Wednesday evening (the 13th).
The food/grill will start with Thursday lunch.
Thursday night dinner will be grilled ham and cheese.
Friday night -spaghetti dinner with meat sauce
Saturday night- pig roast
The grill will be open with burgers and dogs Thurs- Saturday afternoon.
Grill team is happy to grill something that you provide us - if you want something 'special'. (ex:veggie burger...steak..veggies)
I'm getting some details on breakfast and will let you know!
The electric is for small campers. All big RV and class A motor homes must use their own power source.
We are currently updating the electric at the pole, but it's not yet installed to the field.
We will have running water to use, but no showers set up.
We've been asked in the past about hotel discounts, but havent yet been able to secure that. Almost all of the long distance people seem to get hotels in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, next to the casino. Please post if you have a suggestion.
ok...now I really am going out to the garage.

OK then ...... I'll be the first!
I will be there and I will bring my new Fokker DVII. It was framed up by my friend Greg Hahn and then I covered, painted and added the National markings. I am currently doing final assemble of all the sub-components ........ wow, does this thing have a lot of parts!
Final balance (I hope it doesn't need too much lead) is next and then a test flight is in order. I am not sure when all of this will come together - shoot it could be maidened at the ODP!
A little background on this project is in order. Last year at the ODP, Ed Gross from Oklahoma had to leave before the drawing. He came down and handed me a bunch of tickets. I told him I would let him know if he won anything, but he said "No, these are for you ....." I thanked him and waved as he and his St Louey friend, Joe drove out the gate headed for home.
At the drawing Ed's name was called for the Grand Prize, a Balsa USA kit of choice - I stood up all excited and claimed the prize.
But Paul wasn't having any of that! It took me a while to convince him that I had the winning ticket and he finally acknowledged that I had won. I contacted Ed and told him that one of his tickets had won and that he should reconsider and claim his good fortune, but he graciously said that it was mine to keep. Thank you again, Ed. I appreciate this more than you know.
A whole bunch of stars have aligned for all of this to have happened! Thank you Balsa USA for supporting all the events that you do and especially the Ohio Dawn Patrol.....and Ed for his friendship.......and Greg for his, too......and Paul, my good friend, for hosting such a great event.....and all the folks at the ODP for putting up with me for all these years - I arrive early and leave late (the worst kind of guest!).
See you at the ODP
Cheers,
King Arthur

We have moved to Greeneville Tn and have only been our house since June 6th, the household goods showed up the 12th. We're still up to our wazoo in boxes and all my airplanes are at Whits plane over in Nashville. Don't know if I can get away this soon as there is sooooo much to do here and Mama's a good sport but there are limits.to good judgment. I may have to settle for being a heckler this year but next year I'm there for sure.
