@ Ingleburn - You may KISS MY @ S S re: fish tanking!

@ Jonesy - You may KISS MY @ SS re fish tanking!

@ Jonesy AND Ingleburn - Re: Blade 350. I actually had an "eyegasm"! It is cool that DJI is getting a run for their money by others!

@ Jonesy - You'll NEVER see me with a fan strapped to my @ S S. Ever!! Lovely coast! Here in Florida with have "two" coasts less than 124 miles apart! Cool viddy though!

@ Edmund - I hope you have a better day on your tomorrow! I can be a pensioner in 83 days!!

@ Mnem - I get what you said above. I've been blessed with an innate mechanical ability and the ability to share knowledge with the uncanny capability to empathize with the student (recipient) of my expertise and put myself in their place. Or as Forest Gump said "It a gift".

Hiya KIDZ!!

I can't tell you how hard you made me laugh of the way to the flying club this morning!

I LOVE ball bustin'!

It put me in an already better mood!

The short version is, is that I flew to the left and to the right and to the left again!

I look 7 viddys but Youtube is rejecting me due to an over abundance of "Piffle"!

I flew my GWS Slow Stick for over an hour and had a BLAST!

It actually built confidence in that I'd let it get a great distance away and do all kinds of other fun stuff!

I flew the 500 a bunch and the MCP X once!

Just a fabulous day!!

Gonna do it again tomorrow!!

All the best biizzzizzaches!!!

Ok all and I am suffering as a result of that last short sentence of yesterday this morning, headache tablets will just not do it for me. Luckily there were no PIA e-mails waiting at the office to be attended to.

Brian funny enough on 30 September I can go on pension as well when I reach the age for early retirement. Talked to Mrs E about it this morning and she indicated that I will just be able to fly heli's so much, go to the shooting range/hunting so often then what do I do with the rest of my time.

Suppose she is right in her deduction.

Great day all.

Edmund

Hiya Emund!!

Yeppers,

My wife told me that if work sucked REALLY bad that I could go.

We both agreed I'm too young and that the HUGE payout I get if I stay is worth it!

Besides, no more heli's, shooting range/hunting.....you get the idea!

The UP side is, is that at ANY moment, if work sucks really bad after Oct 2nd I can say "bye"!

Time to go back out to the club!!!

Happy THURSDAY (Friday) peeps!

Can watch viddy's again this moring so 45 minutes later and I did get some catch up time.

Ausies, two world records at the Ashes match yesterday, well done.

Brian, for a second or so during your video I thought you were going to go for a loop. Suppose I would be doing the same left to right havign not flown a winged RC thing for more than 30 years.

My daughter is going back home after spending 3 weeks with us recovering from a L4/5 fusion. So tomorrow is a MY DAY with Mrs E not there for the day.

Great weekend all.

Edmund

Yah, I really like the guys style-O-blather!

It makes me wanna buy something. Like a [link=https://www.shamwow.com/]"Sham-Wow"[/link] or something!

Highly informative and great delivery!

Looking forward to the other iterations of the software and the inevitable price reduction!

This is a pretty cool tool if any of you fly quads or planks using a DX7 or the like!

I had a "need" for this in that when I plug the battery in on my Dumas Swamp Buggy my hand were PERILOUSLY near the prop and in light of Phil (God rest his soul) nearly LOPPING his arm off I looked for a solution!

Now that I am delving into the world of planks and quads I need to have a particular discipline on this issue.

The owners son at the LHS told me the ONLY time he ever had an "accident" in all his years was with a Slow Stick. My work buddy who flies north of me got himself AND his toddler daughter with his Slow Stick!

Or you could just do one of these...

I see all the old-timers at the field doing that.

Wait a moment... you mean to tell me that JR/SPEKTRUM firmware doesn't have a premade template for Throttle Hold?

You have GOTto be f@$%ing kidding.

This is like a fundamental safety feature... how in the HELLdid they get to be so popular with this crap firmware that doesn't do ANYTHING?

*Shakes head in disbelief, muttering*

On a different note; my son just got THISin his last bag of LEGOs...

That's right. LEGOhas become the first Earth importer of BabelFish.

Yup, the rubber band idea looks interesting but I'll use the switch!

As for Spektrum making a template, you have to get a Dx64!

B
ADX64? What, they programmed them on a Commodore?

My point was that EVERYBODY's firmware has a Throttle Hold preprogrammed; hell, I even had a Throttle Hold add-on on my Futaba Attack 4 like... in the STONEAGE. I can't believe they got away with that crap, and not having assignable switches, pots, etc like a CIVILIZEDradio. I mean, if a $48 9X or the Devo 7 "Gimme"TX can come with it years ago, they have no excuse.

MMMmmhmmmm?

Whaddaya have against the 9XR? I'm not a big fan of the gimbals in it, but I'd still buy it again. I think they're no worse than the ones in the DX6i/DX7. I just wish they'd release replacement LCDs for it so I can upgrade my 9X; the crisp display of the 9XR is why it's just collecting dust, and it's the one that's modded for FRSky Telemetry...

Yeppers,

It's the commemorative "Commodore" model.

Actually it STILL doesn't have a kill switch in accro but a little hand comes out of the Tx and give you a .....

I have a love/hate relationship with H/H but to this day, still love 'em.

If the Tx breaks in any other facet than a drop. You send it back and they fix it free of charge.

It binds with all kinds of cool crap I like and most of all, it takes advantage of my intense laziness to learn a new Tx![:'(]

I just like it that there are inexpensive analogs to Spektrum and through free market economy a LOT of choices at a reasonable price!

I wonder what my DX7 would have cost in 1977??

Cheers!

Hiya Kidz!

Got lucky on Craigslist yesterday and added a "sister" yacht to my red Nirvana. They are sought after boats as the manufacturer stopped production and not only are they harder to find than "hens teeth". When you do they go for original street value!

The Fu-Bar came in today and I'm studying the setup guides.. I have the good software and drivers so just need the time. It WILL be some weeks as summer vacation is JUST around the corner!! WOOT!

Got a few piccys of my stuff below!

Have a GREAT weekend as I will be working!

They both feel a little cheap but the xr feels just a little cheaper. Ant in handle (unless module) and it just looks cheezy to me. Did you backlight your 9x? I'll dust it off for you $?

Oh yeah; I modded my 9X when they first released the Blue LED backlight modules; same time I put the USBasp header in the battery compartment. I ran er9x in it for a while; but the lack of ready-to-use Heli templates made me flash it back to stock. After I got my 9XR, I flashed the 9X to er9x to try the Telemetry Mod. Works brilliant; but my 9X has been umm... de-antennified long ago. I use modules built into the Spektrum DM9 module cases; they have a good 2dB antenna built-into each module.

Didn't I ever show you guys this pic from my Build Log?

Turnigy totally screwed us on the built-in antenna deal, just like they did with that cobbled-together bleephole mess on the 9X Rev2 (This model). They should have released an empty module shell when they released the 9XR with the antenna connector and a uFL header inside so we can put any damn module we want.

There's nothing wrong with the handle antenna on the 9XR; it's made to meet EUstandards for ERP, and there are lots of folks flying over there without their planes falling out of the sky. I just ignore the damn thing; being horizontally polarized it makes no measurable difference in the SWR of my modules.

I'll have to think on selling my 9X; it was my first REALTX after getting back into RC.

So last friday whilst installing a new battery I dropped one of the little screws onto the floor. Bend down to pick it up and knocked over a full cup of coffee over my desk at work including mouse keyboard paperwork and most importantly my #16 with the top case off. Not happy Jan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2akt3P8ltLM) !!

My camera is stuffed but it smells good Might have to lash out and get a mobius...but I'm waiting for Ingleburn to give us the nod on video quality

Hiya Jonesy,

Dang, I'm gutted for you!

However, "when one door closes...".

Get the MOBIUS, GET THE MOBIUS!!! You KNOW it works good. You've seen the viddy!

It's like a fine wine, it will ONLY get better!

Winding down here for summer vacation!

Just two more days!
