Default Raptor 30- Spektrum AR600 W/ blinking red light

Long story short I have been flying my raptor 30 V1 all week and no problems at all, it has been running perfectly. Then this happens, I have a spektrum DXi6 with a Spektrum AR600 RX, my local hobby shop set the whole thing up Jeremy the owner is a pro at setting helis up. All my batt's are fully charged everything checks out on my preflight check. I am hovering about 1 foot off the ground I am really new at this so I am taking it slow. All of sudden the heli drops to the ground Ihave traing gear on so it has a little bounce to it when it hits the pavement. Then it countuines to roll along the gound I cant control it at all I tried using the motor kill switch nothing. So it finally hits a basketball poll and the wood blades shtter into a millon parts! Wow my first real crash I think, so I kill the fuel line and the motor shuts off Inotice that there is a red light flashing on the RX it looks like 2 flashs at a time. After my 4 and 5 year olds say how cool that was, and it was just like some movie they watched. I bring it home and noticed that the RX had a blinking red led inside it, it seemed to blink twice and then repeat it self. Can anyone help me so this does not happen again? I am new at this and tring to be as safe as possiable and respect these helicopters because they are very dangerous. Thank you
Mark

Sounds like power loss, did you check all the connections between the battery and the receiver?

Examine the switch for damage?

One quick Question, if it is power loss and all my onertors are tight and wires look good, what else should Ilook for? Like last night It gets a a signal when Iam standing about 10 feet from the heli but when I start to walk backword and get about not even 90 feet away it loses it conection while both the RX and The TX still have full power, could it be a defective DX6i?It is brand new. Thank you again.

Interesting...

If you have another receiver then I would certainly give it a try, at least for a range check.

If they both have the same then I'd take a peek inside the transmitter, the little coax connector that hooks the antenna to the board is somewhat fragile and the pin could be bent over inside it or it could simply be loose.

Now that I think about it, I personally wouldn't be using that receiver, I'd be using a 6010 or 7010 with a satellite receiver in a nitro heli.

That has the orange bind LED and the red hold LED, which one is flashing?

The red hold led, and as for the AR600 my guy at the hobby shop put that one in so should I ask him maybe why this one or sugjuest the AR7010? He is a really great person and I dont want to make anyone mad. He has been doing nitro helis for decades. I do have another transmitter at his shop it is a DX7. Also with the Leds at one point when Iam walking backwards the orange one is lit up and when Iget far about 30 feet the rd one comes on.

Hi Andy ,
I checked one of my other raptors that had a spektrum ar7000 in it and once I got about 30 feet away it did the same thing as the raptor with ar600 in it. Could it be the TX?

That's what I'd start looking at. Like I said, the antenna connector on the RF board is delicate, esp if someone has ever messed with it or poked around in the tranny

Hi Andy,
Thank you for the response, they have helped a ton! The TX is brand new, never been opend, never been miss handled in anyway. We dont live in a perfect world so I belive there could be ones that are just defective. I emailed my hobby shop guy Jeremy and it is covered under warrenty.

With help from my hobby shop guy, he got the raptor back in the air only had to replace the main blades. It turned out that the red light was cause by my TX being defective. So my hobby shop guy replace both my Spektrum DX6i and the RX Spektrum AR600, I did ask him it the AR600 was ok for this heli and he said ues it is.
