NO Wheelie. Tighten Slipper Clutch?

My Revo 2.5r would not do wheelie. I did a search and some recommend to tighten the slipper clutch. I know that tighten it too tight it will damage the transmission, BUT how tight it too tight?

BTW, to tighten the slipper, I just tighten the screw shown in the pic below correct? Thanks

right, thats how you tighten it, however you must hold not only the spur gear but the silver gear behind it too and remember...righty tighty, lefty loosy

What engine are you running? Best I can do with my 2.5r is just get the fronts off the ground maybe an 1-2 in.

Yea the 2.5r really isn't that powerful to wheelie. Another easy way to do it is get a bigger spur gear. It makes a diffrence.(gives you more low end while sacraficing a little top end)

Exactly... Just a little! There is a slipper clutch on there for a reason! Let it do it's job! If you have it too tight, you're just asking for wrecked parts!

Traxxas recommends backing it off a half a turn don't they? I wouldn't go above 1/4 turn backed off myself...

On the Revo manual it said
Quote:

To tighten or lossen the slipper nut, insert the 2.0mm hex wrench into the hole in the end of the slipper shaft. This locks the shaft for adjustments.
Do I need to do that or can I just hold the spur gear and the silver gear tight and adjust the slipper nut?

You should be able to just hold the two.

the 2.5r engine will wheely all day long if you set up your truck to do wheelies......make your rear suspension very hard.....yes you can tighten the spur up....but if its too tight you will just chew up your tranny and or diffs..I would play with your suspension ride height and put some heavy shock oil in...if all you want to do is wheelies you can tighten down the pillow balls on the suspension arms so that the rear suspension doesn't compress...your truck should be able to flip right on to its lid with the rear all stiff like that.

I have installed a pico 26 big block in my revo 2.5 and it seems like something is not right on my slipper clutch. You give it gas and it just barley moves and bogs down and then dies it has a 38 tooth metal spur gear and it just does not seem to act right. I tighted it up all the way and loosed it and nothing seems better but i did notice that the trucks rolls forward fine but you roll it backwards it makes a grinding sound is this a gear mesh problem or a slipper clutch prob or is my motor misalighned?
