Vin:

Sure glad to see you out of that Red T-Bird......those things were designed for ladies to drive to their massage and nail appointments..

What color is it....can't tell from the photo.....my last special order Vette was a 1969 Glen Green LT-1 with matching interior.......after seeing what the old Vettes are bringing these days at the Barrett-Jackson, looks like I definitely should have kept it...........

I am going to stop at the SVF later this morning if the boss loosens the noose....heading back home tomorrow.....uugghhh!!

Tom,

There is going to be a big pattern ho-down at SVF this weekend. I reckon that the field will be full prima-donna-types (I'm a has--been) tuning-up. I.m up in Flaagstaff ENJOYING the snow.

Nice, but a prime 63 split window coupe would be even nicer.

Being a Chevrolet, I don't guess you have to worry about hitting the 200 mph speed limit? hahaha

Moved from the Jets forum to Full Scale cars. I left a redirect so those following the thread could find it.

Ferraris aren't whatthey used to be when Enzo was around. Last really practical ones were the 308/328/348 cars.

My favorite is still the 250GT SWB. Bought one in 1964, two years old, cost $4800.

Wish I had kept it.

Always wanted a vette, but just can't justify spending what they want to insure one. Huge money here and I can only drive it 4 or 5 months a year. May still get one someday, but not yet. Gotta get me a new mustang GT first. Sweet! The front end looks just like my brothers 67 mustang.

Hi guys, I was informed by a member in the RCU r/c cars section that the Dodge Neon is a far better/faster car than the Vette... Vincent you might want to trade that Vette in for a car like his lol.

quote:

ORIGINAL: RamSavageLST (Dodge Neon owner)

All I know is that Ive spent less then 32k on my car inclueding the car, engine mods, wheels and suspension, it makes 422hp, I drive it everyday when its nice outside, it gets 26mpg and can beat a 50k Z06 Corvette!

Some people will get this, and some will always be stuck in their ways of thinking V8's are better

end quote:

(my reply to him)
quote:
YUP!, you made your point LOL and to boot your neon must be a real chic magnet lol.
ZO6

High Perf NEON

It just seems some r/c guys are all "bling bling" and no "ding ding"... HELLO... mic-fly J/K

Well. 26 mpg, 422 hp, beat a Corvette... with a hopped-up Neon...

I wonder if this fellow has ever told the truth in his life?

The 422hp is possible, but your time between overhauls will be about two minutes, shades of top fuel dragsters. And 26 mpg will be closer to 26 gallons per mile. Acceleration? No. It's front wheel drive, it will just sit there and burn the tires off the wheels. Finally, to get that power the engine cost alone will be more than the total price for the Corvette.

I just LOVE that pic LOL. The 4cyl comment I got from that guy and I got more from others in the r/c car/truck section was when I made a comment about .21/.28 engines having 3 to 4 times the power of a .12/.15... I in general I compared a 4cyl to a 8cyl V8 engine and I had some young guys jumping on me saying quote:I can attest that I have beaten many of your V8 powered cars out on the road and on the track. end quote. It is hard for me to understand this being that I have come from a world of american powered drag racing in which I do not remember seeing any 4cyl Honda civic powered F/C, P/M, P/S lol going up against any american powered Funny car, Pro mod, Pro stock lol.

I don't have anything against small engines but when kids at RCU say things like...
quote:I think its funny how you put down the "Civic 4 banger" when it can keep up with a lot of stock bigblocks. :end quote
I got to say something back to these type of miss-informed rocket scientists lol.

I do understand that a 4cyl engine can make some big power, Ford and GM have been there and done that years ago but at what cost and what life span... lol, I will take a V8 any day over a 4cyl. because when it comes to making big power, with out busting the bank and having some reasonable engine life, it just makes more sence to start with a V8

Boss:

And REAR WHEEL DRIVE. Remember weight transfer?

If the little front wheel drive roller skates are so great, why is EVERY specialty built racing car in the world rear wheel drive?

LOL, well there's a whole other topic thats tied in with most 4cyl engines, I recently seen a "Nopie"? tunner show where they showed so called fast imports, the so called "pro stock" honda civics imo looked retarded. On the show they said they NEED the wheel spin to get out of the hole lol. these cars had (super long) wheelie bars which looked retarded, they said that they use these to keep the car level and at speed quote: the bars become your rear tires :end quote, ??? this is crazy lol. The higher speeds you go, the more problems you will have with this.

I did see 2 fast imports, I think v6supras? but really when you look at the amout of money these guys claim to have spent to make there import go fast, it seems like an exercise in futility. They could have bought a few ZO6 vettes lol. Watching these 2 cars going down the track and then one cliping the wall because of engine breakage again makes me think???... these guys would of been better off building a GM, FORD, DODGE v8 car, maybe these guys do it to prove a point that imports can go fast but to many of us they make them selfs look silly spending so much coin for so little in the end.

One other comment is the import tv race show seemed like a joke with teen girls taking center stage jellow westling and don't forget the boucing cars lol, something just does not seem right to me in all of this. NHRA and IHRA does not need T and A and jellow and boucing cars to make for a good show/event.

The bottom line I guess is I feel like this...
