Default Club 40 to EF1

Just wondering how many of the Texas Club 40 racers are also running EF1? Just about have my Pogo finished. Figured this was another inexpensive way to chase a checkered flag.

Well there are some of the bigger names in pylon racing that have EF-1 and already said they'd show up if we had some races.

After the Q 25, EF 1 race at the Richardson Radio Control Club in Sept. the steering committee of the North Texas Pylon Racing Org. had a short meeting to discuss next years schedule and what classes we would fly. We have flown Q 25 for the last 8-10 years and this will be the third year for EF 1. In the discussion the question was to keep Q 25 or change to Club 40. The North Texas Area is the only area in Texas flying Q 25 as everyone else fly's Club 40. We did some times on the Q 25s and with that and the races in Waco several years ago everyone on the committee was in agreement that these two classes are equal. The discussion was to combine the two classes for next year and then the decision was made to just go ahead and combine the two classes Q 25 and a Club 40 for the rest of this year ( 2 races ). A BIG FACTOR IN THIS DECISION WAS THAT A LOT OF THE C 40 GUYS FLY EF 1. WE HAVE STRUGGLED TO INCREASE OUR EF 1 NUMBERS! Hopefully this will increase the number of racers that fly EF 1. Hope to see everyone at the races.

If you are successful with combining C-40 and Q-25, I wish you all the best, I think its a 'win win' proposition, and a lot of credit needs to go to Chuck Waller, who to my recollection came up with the idea of C-40 vs q-25 when we had that C-40/Q-25 Challenge in Waco in 2008, in fact a lot of the success of C-40 Racing can be attributed to Chuck and his hard work in those early years.

Yes I agree, a amen to Chuck. I think what will be of interest is how will this gravitate. Will Q 25 fade out or will it hang on. I for one am tired of building Seekers which I fly in Q 25. I'm back into flying C 40 so I had just as soon fly my Raiders, but some of the guys really like flying the Q 500 airframe. What will also be interesting to see is will our numbers come up in EF 1. Unfortunately our next Q 25 race is the same Sunday as the C 40 nats being flown in Waco. The final race this year will be in Nov. at the Ft Worth Thunderbird's.
