Unhappy Yi tech. 4k and 4k+ action cams

Hello::
Has anyone been able to overcome the camera's tendency to switch to photo mode fron video and start shoot long sequences of photos while in voice control by un-packing firmware to correct the code errors? They have evidently decided to end competition with Gopro and end firmware development 2 yrs now.

I haven't personally unpacked firmware to correct code errors, but I understand the temptation to find a DIY fix when official support ends or isn't helpful. If the manufacturer has stopped updating the firmware, your best bet might be to look into online communities or forums where tech enthusiasts gather to share custom fixes or workarounds for similar problems. Sometimes, you'll find that someone has created a solution for the exact issue you're experiencing. Just be cautious, as tampering with firmware can potentially cause more issues if not done correctly. It might also be worth exploring alternative camera options if this becomes too big of a hurdle to overcome, especially if you need reliable voice control for your video work.
