That 3D model is HUGE! For a small one check out Nicks 9", 11 gram RTF (scroll down a ways): http://microflierradio.com/ReadytoFlyPlanes.html

I find it funny that as I am reading up on this stuff I find myself drilling a wheel pant that weighs 70 grams after drilling it out. Totally opposite end of the spectrum. We are meeting again in the local armory gym for our 2nd indoor meet. I am getting really into this small stuff. My eye's are begging me to not pursue it but my mind is saying yes. Anyone out there making these out of fan fold foam? Maybe some real thin pieces and some cf?

Mike,
good call! i wish there was some video of that thing in action.

Mr. Mugen,
for almost 4 years now all i've done is micro sized planes, only this last summer did i start building bigger planes. opposite ends of the spectrum indeed! i can tell you though that it'll be a fun change of pace, micro planes of any kind are always fun to build and fly.

here's a few others that have been done (gotta love the Favorites folder). pretty much all of them have been done in foam and CF, although i remember seeing a plane about a year ago that had a no-cal profile fuse and wings that were done in balsa/tissue. i dont have that link at the moment, but its about the only one i can remember not being done in foam. what size are you wanting to build?
