Himaxx for my Shogun 400
Just purchased Himaxx 4200 for my shogun. Hobby dealer recommended 8 tooth pinion for main gear drive (to reduce overheating motor) and 10 tooth pinion for tail rotor. Since 8 tooth pinion is going to be smaller than factory gear, whats the best way to adjust drive pinion and main gear mesh?
Thanks...... G dog
8/5/04 never mind, I figured it out already

RE: Himaxx for my Shogun 400
Take your time stacking the gears, I used a small bench vise to press them on one at a time. Be careful not to bend motor shaft. Check gear alignment as you go. It's easier to press them on than pull them off. You will then need a small round file. Carefully enlongate motor screw holes towards main gear. Don't use screws that come with Hi Maxx, they are too long. I used the screws that came out of the stock motor. Loosen tail boom screws and move tail boom back a little. Once you have motor mounted adjust main gear mesh first then adjust tail rotor input gear mesh. That's about it. Good Luck, Happy Flying!
