Yeah, Nice one!
I plan on building one next after I get my F/A-18 sorted...having receiver issues. Like the paint- what did you do to get the surface smooth? What prop did you use?

Pics of mine are on the "3D-Foamy F18 EDF Mini Fan 480 Project " thread. I eperimented getting the surface smooth, but didn't have as much success as I wanted. Also I brushed mine- was ok but spraying would have been better. Antway, who has the time to mask an elaborate scheme like that on a foamy?!!!!

I liked yours OZ! Once you get your radio issues worked out you will love flying it.

Thanks vicman, the Oz distributor of the 3D Foamy stuff is going to host some pics and stuff for me, so check out his site: http://www.nex.net.au/users/rwood/ and under the 'customers planes' bit. I also used his servos and brushless motor/esc combo. nice guy too!!!!

I saw the canadian 3D foamy F/A-18on the 3Dfoamy website and figured that was the standard to beat. Nice glossy finish, tiger stripes, but i suspect it may be a decal- any ideas out there?

Sorry for the lay off. I forgot I posted here. I used createx auto air paints. I got them at my art supply store. Smooth paint requires white balsa filler and a lot of sanding. Depron is a closed cell foam but you need to fill all of the holes in the foam with balsa filler to get a smooth surface. I rub all of the joints and block sections with filler and then sand with a sanding block and 320 paper. Wipe the depron with alcohol and paint. Also, I am using a full size JR receiver in my plane. I have yet had any problems and it gives me piec of mind when the plane gets a little far from me. I simply removed the plastic case and mounted it with doubble sided tape.
