Crrc gp26r Crankshaft bearing removal

You have to smack it really hard on a piece of solid wood sometimes to get it to come out. Sometimes they are glued in with a special bearing glue that makes it even harder. Can't you get something round in there to carefully tap with a hammer to get it out? (Heated before tapping as well.)

It depends. If you can get the bearing out by the heat and smack method, then as long as the bearing balls, races and ball retainer are good, then you can re-use the bearing. If you have to beat on the bearing, then you should beat only on the outside race if installing the bearing in the crankcase, or only on the inside race if installing on the crankshaft. In other words, any beating you do should not be transferring shock through the bearing balls. If it does, the bearing can be damaged. That makes it pretty hard to get a stubborn bearing out without damaging it. New bearings don't cost much and are usually worth installing. Try bocabearings.com. They will have it either by application, or bearing measurement. There is another bearing supplier that is good and a bit cheaper than Boca, but I can't remember the name right now. I generally use Boca. They have good service, stock, and ship fast.
Edit: You don't need to buy the high dollar bearings from Boca. They offer all kinds of special bearings, but the standard bearings are as good or better than what came in your engine to begin with. Sometimes 2 stroke engines use a sealed bearing on the front bearing, and some have a seal on only one side. You can buy a sealed bearing and remove one of the seals if yours is designed that way from the factory. Boca even has instructions on the website how to remove the seal. If your engine has a separate oil seal, you should replace that and Boca will have that as well. Crank seals are critical on a two stroke for proper operation.
