Thank GOD!! I'm almost done!
After effing around far too much, my Savvy is almost BACK to bashable form. Waiting for parts, screwing around with stupid parts combinations that were never meant to work together, and other various things have kept it down for the past couple months (aside from the half-assed throw-it-together-to-go-bash-for-a-day thrash I had a short while ago)
Here it is...it looks like its a long way from being done...but OH LORDY it's so close...I actually have ALL the parts to finish it! (and then some, LOL)
The streamliner body will be the same color as the F100 body, btw, and the F100 body is from when the truck had just been built, before it was EVER run (like 6 months ago, lol)
Converted to 17mm buggy hubs without dropping $50 on the HPI conversion Actually...the only reason I did that was because I don't like the brokeback purple...

it's Pactra Burgundy Metallic backed with black.
I actually used the same paints to get this color....but i was goin for the color on the F100. Now that i've started painting the streamliner body, it's gonna turn out like this too...

It looks nice. I really like that f100 body, ranks right up there with the Bronco.
I also run a 17mm buggy set up that I did last year, mine were blue and I wire wheeled it off also.
Brokeback purple? [sm=what_smile.gif]
I hear in that movie you were the stand in stunt ass....[sm=49_49.gif]

RE: Thank GOD!! I'm almost done!
I'm planning on converting my Savy to 17mm similar to the way you are doing it. I bought some Blue 17mm Revo conversions that look the same as your except for the color and all I had to do was drill the center of them out a little bit more to make them fit right. I am going to sand just a little off the back of them to make sure they aren't rubbing the knuckles or anything though. But my question is, do the stock Savy X wheels work with that kind of 17mm adaptor or do I need to modify them. I just didn't know if they were for the goofy HPI 17mm's or not.

the wheels in that picture are stock Savvy X wheels, so yes, they work without modification. the thing about doing the conversion on a Revo, though, is you don't have the threaded hole in the end of the axle that you screw the setscrew into to capture the pin.
Grav, nah, i was the stunt giver. we just had to slip you some spanish fly and tequila so you'd be the stunt ass[:-]

Coming along nice. I don't know if its the cam or because that its an indoor pic but that color isn't too far off from light shade of purple.
is that the same color as your f100? because that looks more burgundy.
I was just thinking how cool would it be to have functional smoke stacks on that.

RE: Thank GOD!! I'm almost done!
my LHS specializes in helis...and I was VERY tempted to adapt a .30 size heli pipe to it, LOL
It's not the same color, it IS very purple-ish...it's the same paint though...this is a pic of the F100 under the same light
*EDIT* I think I actually used Tamiya black behind the pactra metallic burgundy on the F100 now that I think of it...that was like 6 months ago though, so who knows-and in case anybody's wondering, NO, that is not the same set of wheels and tires as in the pics with the streamliner body, LOL.

Whoa... that "Brokeback purple" comment came back and bit you right in the butt on that Streamliner body didn't it?

the only way to redeem yourself is to fabricate that pipe, I think that would be the cats ass.

Them red springs don't look bad.
but I tell you I like that color and it would match my brokeback chassis perfect. not only is it purple but it looks Integy purple. I like it.
