Default Sending Monet to third party company

I'm not sure if this was ever done on RCU, but I think many years ago there used to be an independent company that two people could sign up with. The money was sent to the company and was held until the package arrived with the buyer. Then the money was released to the seller. Does anyone remember this?

The reason I'm asking is that a brand new member has contacted my and shows he has a kit I'm afer, but just joined te night before and now says he only accepts PayPal through Friends & Family. I think this is a con. What do you think?

I called PayPal and to help anyone moving forward. If someone says they ONLY have a Friends & Family account, then it's a fraud. They don't do accounts like that.

Exactly, they want you to send it without buyer protection.

Default Potential fraud based on what I just read

Hi I placed a wanted ad. I was contacted by a forum member saying they knew someone who had what I wanted. I contact the email address and the person sent me pictures. All appeared legit. The person said I could paypal their sons account but asked me to use friends and family. I sent the payment on trust having received photos of the goods i wanted.....reading this I am thinking have I just been scammed? I am awaiting tracking info on the parcel...wi prompt the seller again.
regards barry

Who was the member? I also removed the reference to another member you seem to have a beef with since there's no evidence here that he's a scammer

Never use F/F unless you know the person personally. You have no protection and I'm going to guess that this person has a brand new account, no forum posts or feedback.

Typical scam pm by a brand new account asking for F/F payment. Best of luck, my guess is that money you sent is gone. Anything is possible.

Last warning for you on the pubic bashing of another account, if they sent you nasty pm use the report PM button within that PM and we can review it.
