Slow Stick Rebuild
I used to fly RC a fair amount but it's been about 8 years since I've flown. I rebuilt this old Slow Stick with a surprisingly powerful 2826 brushless outrunner, did the camo paint and replaced the old foam tail feathers with balsa, and covered with monocote. Also added ailerons. Just waiting for Speed controller and battery coming tomorrow and then take her out for the maiden flight! I did fnd that the balsa tail feathers are very noticeably heavier than the original foam, and if I'd thought of it, I would have made some cutouts to reduce weight. As it is, the CG is ok with the battery almost all the way to the front, based on about 4 1/8th" CG from leading edge. The wing (L.E.) is back about 6.5" from the back of the motor. Will it fly in this configuration ok, or should I make some cutouts in the tail feathers, so I can move the wing forward more?
