Default Is there any locating devises for when our planes go down in the bush ??

Hello everyone,

I recently lost an 80 inch wing span Stinger fun fly plane, when I lost complete radio control.
I think I lost receiver power, as the fail-safes did not kick in and the engine was still at full throttle, when it went in the bush.
I have been looking for over a week to no avail, the bush is very thick, like a jungle, and now I’m loosing hope of ever finding it.

I know there is GPS devises, but they could run hundreds of dollars.

Is there anyone out there who has a link to some reasonably priced devises, that can be installed inside the fuselage, that could locate a plane after it crashes ??

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks
BoundForHell
You can never have enough power, as you can always throttle back.

Lots of them advertised in the modeling magazines but I have no idea if they work if you loose battery power.

I found one that will work to about 200 ft in the bush that has it's own battery power.

Here is the link

This is what I use in several of my planes, they work very well:

If you are an electronic kind of person, here you have a circuit that works with an independent 9 v battery:

If you go straight in fast, and take the radio...stop and be quiet..move the controls..listen ...move and repeat....sometimes a servo will work as a locator..I have seen it work time and again..

Just get in there while you have battery, and hope one channel is still working !

good luck !
