Single axis gyro for rudder
There are so many single axis gyros in the market today with large variation in costs. I am not sure which ones are reliable. I intend to use it for the rudder function to help with takeoffs. I would like one with rate and HH.
So far I have used Eagle Tree and Bluelight Technologies for 3 axis stabilizations on two of my planes . I love them especially for take off and hands off hover .
However I don't want to use a costly 3 axis gyro just for rudder .
Can you folks recommend some brands ? Thanks

The last thing I want is the gyro crapping out during flights.

Both JR and Futaba now sell Airplane Specific Gyros, both are good, I use both on Rudder Control for takeoffs, work great!

The HK401 is a clone of the Futaba 401. When it works, it works just as well as the Futaba. The difference is that the Hobby King version was made by 8 year olds in a Chinese sweatshop with the cheapest tools available and no quality control. You can decide if it's a good buy or not.
