Default Airliners Plans..Where to find...?

Hi guys,

i was wondering.....all these companies,SM ,FEJ ,Feibao and many more, where they get the plans for building the planes they build?
Even the airliners planes?
Who's giving to them the plans?

Especially the Αirliners who is my favorites plane series.

So If I have the passion and the hands to build such a plane why should i must pay some thousand dollars to buy it?

Where did they get them?

My point is that i want to build a Boeing 747-400,does anybody can help me find the plans to build it?

Thank's in advance for any replies....

The best selection of short kits is available from Norbert Racuh out of Germany. All of his models are 1/16 scale. Do a search for Rauch airliners and you will find it. They are not a beginner's kit however and require some experience or ability to probelm solve. Good luck.

Agreed with Tommy and may i add, Norbert does not make B747's short kits!. So far i have no idea if anyone does plans or short kits for B747s, ones that are done, all are build from guy's own plans and there techniques...

Sorry, can't help you with a 747, but I could hook you up with a PCM Models L1011 kit...

For a good starting point, Boeing offers free simple 3 view CAD drawings for all their products (including the 747-400) on their Commerical Airplane Airport Technologies webpage. You will need somesort of CAD program to open the files once you down load them. They claim that the drawings are accrate to within 6 inches.

I am already working on a 1/17 scale 747-400F. If you are interested in drawings that have already been re-scaled to 1/17 scale, send me a PM and I will send the file to you. 1/17 scale is a fairly big airplane....160" in lenth and 144" wing spin.

Regards

Bob

Thank you very much for the page.

So,for example, Norbert Rauch ,Thilo Kyritz, Peter Michel and everybody else started building these planes from drawings?

It's very difficult to make a plane from these drawings!

I am not sure how these guys did their planes, buts it's how I built my DC-10 and how I am approaching the 747.

Bob,

Thanks for.sending me files, i will check them in the morning.
I was thinking ur B74 @ ur scale would be at the same length as my Concorde is but
its 29" shorter. I most of the time try to get factory drawings to make my models as nothing could beat factory stuff.
My Concorde is also being built from Angelio French factory drawings scanned in to Rahino n then turned into solid 3D model first n then made into pdf files to print plans.

For this question you may simply send an e-mail to Norbert Rauch using the link on his website.
