Does the Buttonwillow field require a turbine waiver?

Any meet sanctioned or not, will require a waiver to fly turbines solo (w/o buddy box).

It's an AMA chartered club, so yes - a waiver is required if you plan on flying a turbine solo.

If he's bringing us one each, I may try to escape for an hour or so...

Its not a meet, just a bunch of guy's getting together. But as mentioned, meet or not, you must have a turbine waiver to fly solo...just like any other AMA field.
Are you a new turbine pilot? Are you looking for some buddy box time? All of us will be at Fresno Jets at the end of the month, and we will be planning a Buttonwillow trip shortly after that, if you are looking for a big group of guy's willing to give you a hand. Let us know, we will be more then happy to get you in the air.

Yes, I'm a jet newbie... I've been getting help from Billy and Jason (Valley Flyers club) at the Sepulveda Basin field - which I recently found out doesn't require a turbine waiver because it's not an AMA field.

But it good to know that there are also guys up at Buttonwillow who might be willing to fly buddybox with me until I get my waiver.

If you fly at Sepulveda without a turbine waiver, I hope for your sake that you don't own a home! Without AMA insurance any crash related damages will be all yours to bear!

GET YOUR WAIVER, FIRST!
