Just taking a shot, A. Tupolev was imprisoned in Russia. Designer of the TU-2, had more variants then you can shake a stick at.

Yep you got it.

Was originally set up with a pair of 23 mm cannon and a single Browning in the nose, reconfigured with 8 Browning's in the nose it became the Grim Reaper.

Tail dragger
Had a canopy on top and bottom
Crew of two normally, pilot & tail gunner, but could carry and observer too.
Used as a heavy fighter and also a ground attack

Ok another twin boom special.
First flew in 37 and was a weakling.

Reworked and was nicknamed "The Grim Reaper"

The fuel tanks leaked, so the mechanics would tape over the seams to try and stem the flow, which usually ran up over the canopy
