That's it- the Vought XF5U.  Ok, so it never entered service, but it's just a strange looking "warbird" who's early specs stated that it would be able to hover and have a top speed over 500mph!

Without looking anything up that's my first thought. It's nickname, "le faucheur" (french for Reaper) was pretty deserving with it's 8 machine guns.

B-50 Superfortress.

It was basically a B-29 Superfortress on steroids- it replaced the B-29's Wright engines with more poweful Pratt &amp;Whitney engines.

a65I, that's the asnwer I was looking for! Its lack of an internal canon limited its air-to-air capabilities to missles. At that time the AIM-9 Sidewinder wasn't as reliable a weapon as it is now so...

All though it proved itself in combat during Vietnam, the F-4 Phantom's greatest assest was it's thrust. What was it's greatest weakness in the air-to-air arena? (this may be a little subjective)
