Welcome to Club SAITO !
I have owned enough of them and enjoyed them all, starting 1979.
Enough good experience to consider most of the sour grape negatives as "hype".
Anyhow, I have had good enough results with Enya, OS and YS that Idont exactly worship at the holy altar of only Saito all the time
I appreciate the YS engines well. Extremely well made .
Also appreciate that others may not .

Lol😁
i am just giving a little.
I love the Saito’s and for me it’s just easier to stay with one type. I get tired of going out and have to reinvent the wheel every time I fly. Kinda like the old carb days every car started deferent that had a carburetor.

I would love another twin, but that would mean having to build another plane. Already backed up with builds as it is. # in various state of repair, two still in boxes, and one to assemble as well as doing a few repairs on a couple more. Then there are the three to remaiden!
I have a SIG Liberty Sport that will have an OS Gemini II 120 on the nose, That will be one sweet plane.

I have a Liberty Sport kit still in the factory sealed box. Was thinking about using one of my FA100T twins in it. That Gemini II should be very nice. I had a Sig Clipped Wing Cub on floats with the 120 II that weighed 15 pounds near the end of its soaked 20 year life that flew quite well. At least until the last few seconds!
Oh good, nice to hear everything made it back home safely. Thanks again for the loaner carb Jim.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when the 82 gets another compression ratio increase; from 10.5:1 to 11.5:1. I should be receiving my precision machining jig parts this week.

hey guys, where do you buy your batteries, I need 4 packs ??
I usually buy from NOBS Batteries, but I just thought I would ask you guys this time before I buy.
if this matters, I fly NiCads in the air..

A few of my planes are running nicads, futaba packs with sanyo cells from who knows how many years ago as I got them with used planes I bought. Never had one go bad. The rest of my planes fly on nimh batts and I have had two packs go bad, again who knows how old they were. When I finally need an rx pack I'll be buying ones built with sanyo nicad cells.

If I go non Lithium, then I will go with just the Enloop ones. Have them in my JR 12DX and they work great, hold their charge for months. The NiMh that failed on me was brand new. Had cycled it 6 times to get a goof float on them. Didn't work. When one cell is bad, one cell is bad.

^OK^, so where do you all buy batteries ?
NOBS (no BS batteries) Sanyo NiCads have always packed 200 to 300 more MAHs than their rated capacity, I buy SCR NiCads.
I have been told by more than a few that today's Sanyo NiCads are made by Panasonic

I like these for flight packs
Not sure if this will show up here or not but quick clip of my H-9 Corsair doing a fly-by with the 3cyl FG-84R3

Subtle Croc', very subtle!
I've pretty much switched over to LiFe packs. I have one that has two outputs, and works great for my LT-40 with the FG-11. I can fly several hours and not worry about capacity.

I have used 10 year old NiCd packs to power my portable flash when I did wedding photography.
The NiMh would never stand up to that use.
These are what I use, https://www.buddyrc.com/glacier-2100...r-battery.html
I know not for everybody since you need the correct charger and to forget all you know about charging batteries, but after having my Rascal 168 crash due to a bad pack, I am puling all non-LiFe packs and replacing them with these. Have not had a single one give me trouble the past 4 years of using them. I did have another brand puff up, it still works, but because it is puffed, I will use it for target practice. Will e exciting to see when the .22 hits it.

Nothing to forget so much, just a matter of learning what the battery strengths and shortcomings are.
Judging remaining capacity with LiFe is something that needs learning. I also use these but again, only in constant drain applications like the transmitters. Great batteries though.
6.6 volt batteries are not well liked by many of the older 4.8 volt airborne systems that I often like to use.
Even where they are tolerated, the current drain at 6.6 is proportionally higher than at 4.8 volt, with a few rarer exceptions.
Which takes us back to the original question of where to buy NiCds
