Well, its what we've been waiting for.......and then some. I expected a fantastic Paul Reese video, but this was a step above that.
I have no experience doing this video stuff and I can only imagine how much time it takes to put something like this together. I'm sure I speak for everyone Paul when I thank you for your time, not to mention the extreem amount of talent involved.
Our appreciation is immeasurable.
I have no idea how your going to top this one for '08.......... but thats what I said about the '06 video!
Take a bow bro,
Presta

Very, very, very well done Paul. You have a lot of talent. I have been looking forward to this vid since the one last year was so good.
Congrats on another tremendously successful event. Your combination of remote location, excellent pilots and laid back atmosphere makes for one heck of an impressive event. I would love to visit you guys and see this in person. Maybe next year when my RV7 is done!

IMO If you can make ONLY one event on the LEFT coast for the year , make it California jets . The fellowship , laid back atmosphere, is second to none. If there is a problem its that there just is not enough hours of daylight ,although The CD's are trying to rectify that problem.. Hope to see you there in 08

Just a remarkable looking event and a fantastic looking video presentation, Paul. Just great looking. An event like yours gives us something to aspire to. Congratulations. Definatley looks like premier event to get to one day. Good luck to you in 08 and to having many more.

Bro Paul,
You are a true artist, congratulations!!
This is the kind of video that we all hope to be apart of and to charish. You have done a truely great job and have made everyone viewing it wished that you would do one for the East coast pilots.
God be with you
Monk

Hi Paul, I just watched it again a few times-Two ( of the seamingly innumerable) memorable parts were the sepia tone effects with the hair on the lens, what a great touch and the dusk shots of Joe working on the Hornet. What a way to capture the all the aspects of the day. Scott

I took me a couple of viewings to figure out that I was missing the obvious.
This is not just a video record of an event...it is a film in every sense. A whole story arc, using the potential of the material and the media.
Paul, you are a talented filmmaker; I enjoyed it very much.

Sweet !!!
Thanks a lot for your hard work Paul - at first I thought we might not get much of a movie this year since you had camera problems, back problems, etc - so to pull all of this off despite those setbacks speaks volumes.
Makes me wish it was April again !

I am truly humbled by all of your responses. Wow.
It's very easy to be linked off of a site to view something, and not bother to come back in and leave a message. So do know that I appreciate that all of you did!
I am proud of how the film turned out dispite, as Gordon mentioned, an issue or two...I busted the screw mount out of the base of the cam early Sat. and had to go completely handheld without the aid of any of my various devices (FigRig®, Shoulder brace, or Tripod) for the rest of the weekend, which is fairly noticeable throughout. Very difficult to sustain smooth steady shots...not quite as noticeable in a very "quick" edit. There aren't many clips in the final edit longer than a couple of seconds, and I can almost guarantee that the clip wasn't so great either just prior to, or just after the portion you saw. I was not having "back issues" as Gordon had thought, but he may have heard me mention how hard the Fig Rig is on the back...as you're holding 7 lbs. of rig and cam in front of you unsupported, which, over time becomes quite a lot.
But, I digress...
Again, your responses and sentiments have overwhelmed me, and I am so happy that you have all found it to be entertaining.
Thanks my broheims,
Paul

Only 7 lbs and you're knackered ? Geeze .. I hold at least 50 lbs of ballast in front of me ALL day long - it's called my belly !
Do we really have to wait until next year for the next one ? Can't we have a "Ca Jets 2007 1/2" later on this year ?

As a fellow website video maker, I understand the efforts that go into the filming, and then editing including the timing aspects of the scenes and music. One can spend countless hours making a quick 5 minute video. Great work here Paul, very nice film.

Wow Paul...
You said it perfect when you said it is the people that make the event what it is. The best part of the film is how well you captured the true nature of the event. (Although I did watch the google earth part 15 times
You are a huge part of the show and Dave agrees with me when I say that without you it wouldn't be the show it is today. I hope you know how much we all really appreciate all of the time and work you put into the show and the Movies. You are the man bro!
I want to thank everyone that came out to California Jets 2007. This show is really all about the people, friendship and tearing it up!
2008 will be no exception...
