I too, am looking for wing bags.
I WILL NOT BUY THEM FROM WINGBAGS.COM
Nobody likes to be taken advantage of. Then to be insulted like that??? What would posses someone to react like that?
Matt,do you feel you are at the top of your game in this industry? Has a little bit of success made you this arrogant? He has a legitimate complaint.
People like you make it hard to be a proud American.Which, by the way, I AM!
If I treated my customers abroad this way, I would not be in business for too long. You make profits on the products/merchandise/services you sell. Not in shipping fees.If that is how wingbags.com does business, they must be hurting for money or have no business ethics.
Well... I think he has proven the latter.
See ya'--baby,

I don't think that's the way a businessman should handle things
Didn't sound like a businessman at all, in fact, sounded like a child to me. And I don't want to be sending my money to children, and hoping I get what I've paid for.

This is exactly the place to discuss these issues. See what I've learned from this thread. The beauty of this thread is, the information I'm getting is not hearsay, Matt speaks for himself.

Thanks for the heads up Matt

I have 4 sets of wing bags from wingtote.com and they are of the greatest quality. The customer service was great too. Just my 2 cents...

FYI, I went and checked some of the other threads "Matt" has posted in and it does indeed seem to be him. I find it ironic though that his last post before this one was.

I honestly believe that there is sometimes a direct relationship between supply & demand and customer service.

As demand goes up , service goes down.

I won't try to justify his childish post, what I will do is justify an added expence in an adult and business like manner which is no doubt what he wishes he had done. First he should make the customer aware that shipping to another country involves extra expense that he can not and should not swallow. It does not matter that it only takes 5 minutes to fill out a form, what does matter is the time involved, he doesn't make his wing bags at the local p.o. so he has to take the time himself or send an employee to the local p.o. to send the product off and even if the p.o. is 5 minutes away it's going to tie up someones time and you can bet be it him or an employee that 5 minute drive will turn into at least a half an hour which in my world gets the customer an extra hour charged to their bill (real world billing) and unless he runs a sweat shop that will cost him at least an extra 5-8 bucks and maybe more just to send that package, soooo an extra charge is justified and not just highway robbery. I refuse to even try and justify the post it can't be done.

rockmon I disagree, what's the difference in sending to somewhere in the continental US than canada? They still have to travel to the P.O to ship, they still have to fill out paperwork, and the still have to package it. Yet the charge for the US shipping is only $8, $25 is simply not justified. At this point it doesn't matter now, Wingbags.com has lost my business permenantly. I don't have a problem paying the shipping costs on items when the shipping cost is in-line, but I refuse to buy a product that a retailer will make a profit on shipping.

Kitman: I disagree with you, I think there needs to be a sub-forum here that we can share our experiences in dealing with retailers, both postive and negative. I've seen many posts at RCU about several retailers, good and bad. As a consumer it makes sense to do your homework first.

Um, actually he posted that at: 04-13-2003 8:24 AM. Where did you get 4 months?

Note that I'm not defending his post or attitude, just saying that if you post online, you will eventually post something you'll regret.

Bad thing is I can go out to Google and find every flame war I've been involved in. Makes ya think twice before hitting that "Reply" button.

Has anyone ever thought about using a couple old bedspreads and having them made by someone with a sewing machine ?

Sure - but then you get no bragging rights. And no decals

well I guess it would be like buying ARF versus kit build.

A wingbag ain't exactly rocket sewing science to make though.

YOU COULD USE A SHEET, PACKING BLANKETS ETC. BUT THEY ARE NO WHERE NEAR THE QUALITY OF A WINGBAG.

Wingbags.com and their shipping charge is highway robbery! Sure $8 to anywhere in the US is pretty good, but theu want over 3 times that much to mail them to canada! $25. I paid less than this to get my 5lb engine shipped from the US. What a total rip-off. And these bags are very light and can be folded for shipping, I think that's very unfair business practice. Now I'll have to find another supplier for wingbags.. Anyone have any ideas?

Thx.
I receive and ship to the States from Canada all the time, and yes some do take advantage.

One company charges me $18.00 S&H for a specific product and the other company charges me $6.00 for the same product and basically from the same area.
