Got the RCG26 mounted in the Cub. Need to setup throttle servo and linkage . It would be nice if
a shorter prop drive shaft was available, as this one is a bit long. It's easier to extend the
engine mounting than to shorten the lenght.

I have one that I am putting in a Pawnee from Texas RC. I had to machine shorter standoffs and open up the firewall so the carb sets inside it. Good thing is I can machine just about anything I need from Standoffs to Spools to Full mounts if needed.

Well mine had it's maiden flight, the high end was a bit too rich but it never burped or died, using an 18 x 6 MA classic,
unfortunately in the excitement I didn't take any rpm reading but I will next time out. A few pictures...

I flew my 1/4 cub yesterday morning with the RCGF 26. Just cruise around at about 1/3 throttle. Looks very scale like. I got my RCGF before Henry split with the MFG. Will probably buy one of his 50's that he is selling now.

did you change the timing magnet position? Looking at
mine seems to be different position than yours. If mine doen't
start I'll try aligning it like yours.
Also, were are your needles set on the carb ?

Is this engine the same as the rcgf-aerovate 26? Mine looks identical except mine has an angle plug...When I first got mine it wouldn't start. After 3 hours of flippin and cussin, I removed the carb and reed block assembly and found the reeds were not aligned with the block. I adjusted the reeds and got it to start. I also took the carb apart and cleaned it. It still does not run consistently. Mine does not have a walbro carb , it has has some kind of chinese knock off..Yet the dealer who I bought it from says it has a walbro. My timing sensor is in a different position also. Every once in a while it will kick back like a glow engine does when I try to start it. this engine has been a real pain to say the least.

now I use RCG 26 it first set in my new model Structure by Aluminium . First flite was flew on to day (sunday 23 ) . Engine work well in low and hight RPM . And easy to tune .

Stick2000, my needles were at 1 3/4 for the low and 2 1/4 for the high, it was mushing at high speed so my high still needs some leaning.
I measured my sensor at 29 degrees before TDC.

Well I flew the Cub with this engine today. 100 % sucess on all acounts !
Like someone said the stated needel settings are to lean and engine would
not start. Open needles to 2 turns and engine started. Richen top end a bit
and put it in the air. Transition was right on, engine ran flawlesly entire flight.
Check Idle speed on the ground, was turning a APC 16 X 8 @ 1200 rpm !
It would idle for 3 to 4 mins. at a time and WOT with no hesitation. Haven't
tacked the top end for any extended time but it was over 7000 rpm. Keeping
it rich first couple of gallons. Overall I'm very please with the engine so far, as
nothing negative to report. The guys at the field couldn't believe how smooth
the engine ran right out of the box.
The 1/4 scale Cub weighs approx. 12-13 lbs. and was pulled around at 1/3
throttle with ease. For $140.00 this engine is out performing some of the
more costly brands. Time will tell if this is truly a great bargain.

Update on this engine.
Running real smooth with out missing a beat!
The muffler is real quiet and the vibration is low. It runs like it's
broken in already! Aprox. 2 hrs running time so far. 15 oz.

Have the same engine in a yak 54 from nitromodels
I have tried several propeller the best performing was the APC 16-10 I get 7500 rpm, the airplane change drastical, before I had a 16-8 was ok but not as good as the 16-10.

I too have tried different props. Engine is now in my GP Super Stearman.
Running a APC 18 X 6 W turns 7800 and hauls the Stearman around
real nice. On the third gallon of gas and it pick up 400 rpm so far to
date. I'm getting another to put back in my 1/4 scale Cub.

Hi everyone:
I purchased and received this engine from hobbyking in super fast shipping.
I took it to my test stand today and ran it for 2 hours, in intervals of 15 min running and 5-6min cooling, then back on again.
I'm amazed at this engine based on its price.. I have a DLE30 and thought seems to be a bit less thrust than the dle is still quite potent.
Question.. I plane to install this engine in a Funtana 90 S and I notice the prop drive shaft is quite long and i'm worried that since the drive shaft is so long it will stick out of the cowling once installed to it..
Has anyone encountered this problem. or are there shorter stand offs?

But I encountered something that may haunt me in the far off future.
I bought this engine from hobbyking.com.
Its a great engine plenty of power, superb price and super fast shipping.
But I checked their webpage for parts for this engine and couldn't find any and I e-mailed them about not finding parts for this engine in their webpage and got this responce.

But I noticed that pushing a Master Airscrew 18x6 it had no power!!!
It struggles to pull the Funtana 90.
I read some people here are using 16x8 or 16x10.
How did you guys make the 3 small holes to hold the prop..
Since I have both of these props and the 3 small holes are practically outside of the prop center thus making them useless and dangerous.
I want this engine for 3D.. anyone know the right prop for this engine?

Mine (RCGF/Aerovate 26) will turn an APC 18x6w about 7800 anytime. I've since switched to a lighter TF 18x6 to get rid of some flywheeel effect with the composite prop. I haven't had a tach on it since, but it's comparable to the APC. Not having any trouble powering the Funtana 125 at 10.5 lbs.
