Done with the last servo for the nose gear and I machine some lens holders for the nose gear lights. I am using the Scale4Details lighting system and it's quite amazing the power of thoese bright lights.
Also the real builder is my son Cris in the picture!
Enjoy,
Gonzalo

RE: Skymaster 1:6 A10 Build
Hi guys, I ordered a light kit from details4 scale for my A10, the supplied Ramp Strobes for the top of the jet came with white/clear lenses.
I have seen a schematic at one time showing the scale ramp strobe to be red? I have searched online but cant find any info about this.
Does anyone know what color the ramp strobe on the top and I believe there is one on the bottom just aft of the nose gear, should be/
Thanks Ron

Hello,
I'am new here at the forum, but i want to ask if these items marked with the red arrows are within the kit.
Because i dont have these items by my A10. And i see everyone have these items mounted on the nosegear!

Okay, thank you for the answer!
Then i send a mail to Skymaster because of the missing parts.
Is there space in the bulbs to fit a LED?
Michel.

Hi airspeed917,
Nice installation! question for you? how you plan to check your main tank levels? Do you have more pictures of the simulated CF plate you have over the main tanks? I am about to make to build mine.
I like very much the state graphics you did over the Alaska word!
Regards,
Gonzalo

Thanks Gonzalo,, I can check the fuel level in my tanks by shining a very bright flashlight on the side of the fuse right next to the tanks and look back at the tanks through the open cockpit hatch, the light is bright enough to shine right through the light colored parts of the fuselage and illuminate the tanks.. I can see my fuel level with no problem.
I think I might have a picture of the board before I mounted it,, I'll check and post it when I find it..

Here are some more pics along with a pic of the board before I finished installing all the gauges and labels, The green display screens are the mini Jetcat displays,, no need to plug in the large GSU,, I have them in all my Jets,, their awesome....
If your going to make a board like I did, just try to keep every thing in the center line of the board or you going to run into clearance problems with the fuel tanks.. I have my UAT tanks behind the cockpit, so I have access to fill the tanks when I open the hatch.
Also there's a pic when I balanced it, I have P-140's with the pumps and the ECU's mounted in the rear as far forward as the ECU and pump wires supplied from Jetcat would allow me to go... I was advised by Bob Wilcox from Jetcat NOT to extend the wires. I thought it was going to very tail heavy with the P-140's especially with the pumps and the ECU's in the rear but it wasn't that bad.
I have been reading the posts and it seems everyone is happy with the CG at 145mm so I went with that, I only had to add 1lb 3oz to the nose,, which made it very slightly nose heavy, with full UAT's and gear down.
I like the bezels you made for the landing lights,, I have a small lathe, I'm going to try and make a pair of those bezels.

Awesome pictures Airspeed917! Thanks for sharing with us! I stop working on my A10 as I was away for 3 weeks in Africa shooting a HD video using our Octo-Copters for a research project. I am about to resume the work on my A10 but I have a very important project to finish first.
I can’t wait to hear from you about the performance with the P140's. I am sure it will be perfect. I have installed 2 Merlins P140 on mine and I am also using the exhaust pipe from my good friend Ali.
Question for you? did you paint the Alaska logo? Did you have the graphics that you can share with me?
Best luck with your A10 maiden! I am sure she will fly super well. I can only dream to have both of our A10's same color scheme in formation flying together! Perhaps you want to make a jump to Best in the West in October here in CA

To your tank level question: I don't have one jet where I can see the fuel level... no worries
Go finish that A10 already.... And don't tell me you can't fly it until you get the Alaska decal hahahaha

RE: Skymaster 1:6 A10 Build
Gonzalo the Alaska logo came that way from S/M, They do nice detail on most things,, its the little stupid stuff they did that drives me crazy,, I spent a lot of time and effort trying to get the A10 to look as scale as possible, i.e, strobes, nav lights, tailpipes, weapons decals.
Only to find they misspelled my Ejection Seat Triangle,, it says SEST,, theres another place on the jet that say pull (Mandle) instead of handle,, I hear some guys are getting (Erection) Seats,, I think that would of been cooler,, LOL Maybe I'm being to anal but you think you pay 8K plus for the kit you would get a product near perfect,,, I'm not even going to mention the overspray and unmasked spots that I had to correct.... All in All I'm happy with the kit...
Regards, Ron

Here is a pic of how I setup the front access hatch all the switches and charge plugs, I turn on the ECU's by plugging a plug I made into the two deans connectors you see flush mounted to the board.. All the balance leads and the charge leads are wired into the multiplex plugs .. One plug for each set of batteries 2-6.6v 4600ma Life for Rec and
2- 9.9v4600 Life for ECU's 1- 6v 5000ma NIMH for the lights All these batteries are in the nose which really helped with the CG.

More work on my A10 and I just tried the fit of the board over the tanks.... it's bright orange. I like the fact that is transparent and you can see the level of the fuel tanks.
I might make the bord just transparrent. The nice thing is that I used the laser cutter in my office to cut the acrilic and it only took about 25 seconds with all the opening etc.
I placing the switch for the turbines ECU, charge sockets for the batteries, shut off valves for main fuel tanks.
Enjoy,
Gonzalo

Gonzalo,
I am now flying mine on 2 x Jetcat 140rx, oh boy what a difference, and with full stores also, looks good and enough power to fly unscale aeros, also, but I like to keep it as scale as possible,....

Installation done on the fuse! I just need to install the turbines in the pods, add some orange to the air brakes and we will be ready for maiden.
I am happy that I did the clear installation over the tanks as I can easily see the fuel levels. The switches are for the turbines ECUs in case I want to start them independently. I did cut also the light fixture on the back and put the 1 watt led from details 4 scale. I just need some paint over the black ring that I machined. Tje LED are so bright that I will have to be careful looking the plane from the back
By the way each tanks holds exactly 1 gallon of jet fuel.
Almost there my friends and the way I like it.
