Congratulations Gonzalo. Beautiful plane.
Yesterday, two of them were flying at our club. Great show.
Mine should be arriving in a couple of weeks.

Congratulations Gonzalo. I thought that the maiden was Never going to happen !!! LOL.
Of course I wasn't there, but the power management issue you describe sounds to me more like an improper throttle curve. Those heavy metals fly much easier when the thrust is linear with respect to the stick position.
If you haven't done it, I suggest that you make a throttle curve on your transmitter that outputs 67% when the stick is at 50%, and outputs 37% when the stick is at 25%. Also, activate the expo function on the transmitter throttle curve menu to soften it.
With a linear throttle setting (not with the curve I described) , you have way less than 50% power when the stick in on the middle. It may not bother with light loaded planes, buy may be annoying with heavy metals.
Anyway, I am sure that I will have the chance to fly your beauty at BITW and fine tune it for you......

Did the A-10 feel overpowered with the Merlins?
Did the A-10 feel overpowered with the Merlins?
I fly my Mibo with a pair of P160's (Titans actually) and is not overpowered. You use that thrust as "torque" to do verticals at slow speed (scale). Awesome !!
See you in a few weeks.

OMG, I never thought I could read something about ''overpowering'' from you

Very good points Jack (Dad) and in fact some of the settings that you are recommending can be theoretically done on the ECU for the Merlin turbines.
My first flight was done with Normal: Full Expo as its the default of the turbine…and despite everyone was telling me that with 50% throttle I should be flying to a perfect cruising speed….. In my case I felt the airplane was a little bit too slow and felt heavy. On landing with full flaps was a total floater.
On the second flight I change the settings of the turbine to Half Expo and what a difference! At 65% throttle the airplane was on rails and the way I like to fly.
I also noticed my trims where exactly the same for all flaps positions and I didn't feel at all the tendancy of going up or down when applying power...... but I need to check that more on the next flights.
To illustrate more see below the graphs for the Merlin power distribution and throttle position.
Thanks for your feedback as always and looking forward to see you in October!

We just need you to make some Scale Helicopters ARFS too plus the VTOLs
Thank you for bringing some amazing ARFS and saving us 100 of hours in making one!
Best regards,
Gonzalo

Hello Anton
Very Impressive plane.
Can you sold the plane painted with an heavy weathering (like a very dusty plane)? Because I'm thinking about the A 10 for my new plane but your painting scheme is too shining for me (as a plane with a fresh paint).
I like very much the weathering of the plane of Marc hinton. Can you do the same for an order?
Thanks a lot.
best regards.

Anton, this two guys are Ariel and Pablo, friends from Michel.
btw we have in Curitiba another A10 to maiden soon. Hope to post some pics if everything goes as planned!
about the kit, I found it well built, nice finish, good markings and accurate scale line, many clever details, etc.
only thing that didn´t liked is the landing gear that doesn´t lock without air pressure.

I will be using mechanical air valve with my A-10 for this exact reason. I had a SM f-16 with electronic valves and gear would collapse when sitting. My current SM f-16 uses a mechanical valve and can sit for months without a problem.

The A-10 gear is designed with mechanical down-lock, so even there is zero air pressure it will be locked in down positon no problem.

I never had problems with my gear in my A-10. I was using an electronic valve and never had to use a stand. I'm going for the same configuration with my new one.
The other two A-10's that are in the club also use an electronic valve with no issues.

Nice to see its arrived Mick. What engines do you plan to use? I suppose you will be under powering it as usual!
Look forward to seeing it at Classic Jets.
