Hey Paul,
That common interest wasnt mexican food was it (make a run for the border!!!!). wingspan99 and I were in tears all the way to and from the NC probro flyin, and yes, there was bathroom humor involved too........ I think thats manditory when 2 or more guys spend more than 3 minutes in a car together lolololol.
We had a great turnout at our flyin as well, especially considering the weather forecast turned alot of people away. Chris and his crew put on an awesome event. I managed to burn 1/2 gallon of fuel 4 oz at a time on my 4 stroke magic before it bit the dust in the limbo. I think I woulda killed the whole 1 1/2 gallons I brought with me had that plane survived.
The two highlights of our event were the pbf combat event (the vid link is in the probro nc thread), where there were 5 or 6 pbfs (all 25 sized) and a tennis ball (15 sized) up in the air at once. wingspan99 (tennis ball) got plowed into by pinhead (pbf), who managed to shear off one of the elevons, and about 1/4 of the tennis ball. pinheads pbf found the ground, and wingspan's tennis ball (now complete with the tennis ball fuzz- remainder of the back 1/4 of the coroplast) continued to fly for another minute, and then went in. The final two contestants went at it for about 6 minutes, until one finally went down on the center of the runway, the other hovered in and landed right on top of him ("talk about kickin a guy when they are down!!!" to quote Kevin)
The other highlight I hate to say, wasnt a profile, but a little lime green foam delta that wingspan brought out. It had a screamin straight piped non throttled norvel 061 on it, and it flew like its a** was on fire. Roll rate had to be at least 540 degrees a second, and wingspan (Tom) would do rolling passes the length of the field. I dont even think he knew which way it was pointing at the end of those passes. I knew better than to try to tape the thing (have tried in the past and only got a blur). Was the cooolest sub 1minute flights without a crash that I've ever seen. Theres a pic of it on the rcwingers website.
I think these events should be about every 6 months or so rotating to different fields. Maybe the guys over near the NC mountains can throw one this fall (imagine the reallllllly cool 3d/hovering pics with the fall foliage in the background)
Glad you all had a great time,
Steve

Great time
Had a great time. There was some good 3D there. That Gary dude with his Pro twister kicked *****. Don't let Gator fool you, he is a profile flying 3D Monster.
I think Paul cooked 2 gal of fuel Sunday. It seemed every time you looked up he had a different bird 3Ding.
Chuck Auger's Sledge was killer. Built right, and flys right. Chuck on the other hand wasn't quite right.
Thanks Ulf and Tony and the Bayou club. Great event. Great flying, and great company. Ulf, I owe you a drink.
Tailspnr and Jeff Williams were like the odd couple. Tailspnr was definitely Oscar. Cool dudes, and hope to hang with them again.

Oscar?!?!?!?! Well in some sort of twisted kinda way I'll take that as a compliment coming from a high maintenance guy like yourself. Hey Jess...got any "Grey Poupon"?<Grin> LOL
And Gator....I hope your just kidding when you say you cant remember that guy in the pic........the guy from Pampa. That's the Crash Monger himself.......Chuck Auger.
Has anybody mentioned that these events took place in spite of the fact that the Daddy of the Pro-Bro's himself wasn't there. We missed you Billy! I was really looking forward to meeting you. Theres always next time.
And as far as bathroom humor during the 10 hour rides there and back.......all I can say is it's a wonder the vehicle didn't explode at times. If only we could have properly utilized all of that methane.....it sure would have saved a few of those $60 fill-ups.

Oscar?? Hell yeah!!
Tell ol' Felix I said, "Whasssup!" LOL....Hey, if I gotta be the Skipper/Norm/Tommy Lee you can't gripe. Besides, Oscar liked a cold brew.
Saved $60?? Man I would have paid $60 just so Jess didn't even STAND close to me...much less ride 4 in a pickup cab...after Mexican food...stuck in traffic....
AND I STILL WANT THE GROUP "STARE" PIC!!!! Come on..I know somebody has it..

Nashville!!!!
I think Nashville is a great Idea! I hate I missed this one. Has anybody figured out how to raise two kids (#2 due in August), build lots of airplanes (cause when you fly like me you need a few backups!) and eat, without that "JOB" thing getting in the way!!!

Gator, dont forget about the Spinsation flaw.
All of the ones that flew in Houston were hit with the flaw.
You get enjoying the thing so much that it flys to deadstick.
For those that have not gone to
www.bcflyers.com
There are some other pics on our club webpage.
Take care Jim

Houston trip was a blast. Lots of good flying and the people/company was awesome. I definitely want a pro bro in Nashville, that is only 3 hours for me and the home of Billy Hell. What do you say Billy, can you pull it off for July or sometime around there? Jeff Williams

I agree with Jeff - Nashville would be great this summer. I believe that I could make Nashville!
Maybe we could get the guys that made it to the RC Wingers in NC this past weekend to make it to Nashville too! That would be great!

Hey Hacker! Did you get any better fuel economy without the front air deflector on your trailer? I was thinking that your fuel economy (5 mi/gal) was probably attributed to the trany going out more than an issue with the trailer 'air dam'.

I'll have to see if we are a go for a project in Clarksville during that time. I may have to nominate myself to "handle" that project, and get the best of both worlds. A free trip to the pro-bro event in Nashville (hotel, meals, mileage money for the drive ) and the chance to hang out with the famous, or is it infamous Billy Hell and gang.
