Wow, 420 mph with no main gear doors!!

Enrique, congratulations. I am going to go out on a limb here, but I believe no one will ever fly over 420 mph (or even close to that), you have the bragging rights for life.

Thanks a lot Matt, I donĀ“t know if this speed happened before, but the important thing of about all this is that a new class of r/c event was created and has potential to be extremely popular and interesting...but I have no doubt that this is only the beginning and I am quite sure that this
speed will be surpassed by modellers around the world in events like ours making things more interesting!

I also want to congratulate you and the Jetcat guys for the reliability and performance of their
turbine.

About the gear doors, I guess that in the next one I will have to put them to have a extra
8 km/h !

Cobratraxxas69:
as soon the DVD would be released, IĀ“ll post here where it would be available.

Best regards, Enrique

Wow, 420 mph with no main gear doors!
or perhaps they are not needed at all,,, this one goes at 504 mph without covering the wheel holes!

I hear ya Enrique!!

I like your style!! Congrats again on this event.

BTW, just so you know, JetCat makes the turbines for a target drone in Europe, these turbines are very closely related to your Titan, and they do indeed fly the drone above 400 mph.

ORIGINAL: erbroens

It was quite a moment... Patake (the builder) was crying like a baby and when I asked him what
happened he said: nah, thatĀ“s too much sun in the eyes! Joao also was speechless, he couldnĀ“t
believed at first that our team project won the race..

meanwhile ManoelĀ“s brother, bored with all this started to play with fireworks at the CD table....

more to come.....
Congratulations Enrique 678 km/h.
Great fast dive! I saw it.
I was there talking with you when Patake starts to cry. ( Sun in your eyes )

Enrique,
ParbƩns pelo feito, 678km/h.

Gracias CMJets, realmente estoy muy contento, y hasta ahora me es dificil creer para mi tambien!!

another thing hard to believe was the weather.. we had continuous rain in Curitiba since september,
but those 3 eventĀ“s days where picture perfect.. well almost, there was a little crosswind there... this pic was taken in the third and last day.

Saludos, Enrique

Ops, and I also forgot to thank the DAC (the Brasilian FAA) for filing a NOTAM , restricting the airspace above our club in the days of the event, so when we make the flights we didnĀ“t worry
about air traffic or restriction on altitude... they also made possible and legal the full size aerobatic
demonstrations of the Extra 260 and the Sukhoi 31 that where splendid...

Thanks Carbuncle, but you shouldnĀ“t envy me... wining the speed event was not important at all, the most important thing is that me and a bunch of friends spent a weekend having fun with model airplanes, and this can be accomplished at 50, 200,or 1000 mph.

but anyway I hope that this coverage would estimulate people there to organize a U.S. Jet speed
event in a proper time and place. And if I get a sponsorship (and a visa, lol) I promise that I will participate.

Best regards, Enrique

heres a question for Mr_Matt ... what is the exhaust velocity out of a p200 or p180 putting out 55lbs ?? I believe i heard around 600 something somewhere .... can that be increased by modifying the tail cone ( i don't thing with that much thrust modifying the pipe to taper at the end would be a good idea..... getting that exhaust velocity up to lets say 1000+ mph might while lowering the static thrust allow for greater top speed by a super aerodynamic airframe .. hmmmm

Gents, I just received the event DVD and althought it is very nice and well produced, it covers all the aspects and planes of our event, and it didnĀ“t show for much time the jets, and something that would be disappointing for people who want to watch the 519 and 687 Km/flights, is that there is only footage of a trimming pass at the 465 Km/h flight ... so I am entering in contact with the producers, to make another one based only in the jet part of the event, even if that implies that he only puts raw footage on it... so be pacient and stay tuned and I would try to put some saturday flying footage right here...

And a good new for me is that my participation in the next edition of the jet speed event is granted, with a sponsorship to do whatever plane I like to!!!

Best regards, Enrique

Thx Fabio very much,, I already saw the event poster from Celso, but in february I have planned
a family holiday and it is very unlikely to me to attend it.. it is a real pity. I would liked very much to fly with you guys at interlagos, not to say to see Rio de Janeiro again after so many years...

And guys, the videos are on the way.. (the producers promised me to send clips to post here, and
a dvd with 100% jet action.)

Well, I finally managed to edit some videos of the event.... this decoding/editing movie stuff is a hobby by itself and takes a lot of time, so I am going to post the videos as soon as I could.

At first I would like to introduce the participants of the event. this footage is from the first day flights ... enjoy!

Awesome vid.....is there a way that this one (and future ones) could be hosted on a site where we can download them. I could host them on my web-site but I can only receive 10 MB e-mail attachments through hotmail.

You could send them in smaller than 10 MB chunks to:
