Dred looks awesome! Keep flying and keep us informed on its handling, since it doesn't look like you'll have any snow days to deal with. By the way keep an eye on the black covering cause I also have the yellow red and black SUK and all the black is peeling off, actually started on the maiden. Any signs of that? By the way is the CASABLANCA hotel still there?

RE: death of my edge
My WH 30% Edge 540 came out very light at 14 pounds 10 oz with ZDZ 50, 7955's, pull pull on rudder, receiver 2500mah cheap battery packs NIMH, ignition JR 1100 NIMH. Super fast to build....
This airplane is super....does it all.... solid harriers, no wing rock, both right side up and inverted. Very little KE coupling. SLOOW landing speed..... just awesome airplane!

RE: death of my edge
I have an uncle that is a tugboat captain out of Houston.
No it never stops blowing......... I have lived here all my life and the wind is just something you get used to. One good thing I have noticed about our wind here it is a constant speed, not gusty so it is not as hard to fly in as you might think. We sometimes go out and fly in 20+ mph winds. All that said, whenever I get a chance to retire I might either move to the Houston area or maybe even San Antonio where it is not so windy.
All that said seems like no matter where you live its always something you have to deal with..... tornados, hail, cold weather....etc.

RE: death of my edge
Thank you Ruski.... I will post some videos as soon as I can.
Yes it is a joy to fly and yes it is light weight..... I used the post office scale to weigh it. Everyone that has picked it up can't believe how light it is..... keep in mind I made some compromises to get it that light......some I don't recommend..... I used a 13 gram 8 channel Faast 2.4 receiver, a 4 oz 4.8 volt nimh receiver battery (no lipo or redundant battery and no 6 volt), a lightweight 2s 900 mah lipo ignition battery hooked to a phoenix 10 controller(32 gram total weight with battery), no smoke tank, 14oz fuel tank, lite wheels, a homemade light weight motor mount (standoffs). Lightweight muffler on the ZDZ 50ng. No balast anywhere for balance (this is something I do recommend... move your servos, batteries, etc so you don't need extra weight to balance). One thing I did that added a few grams though is that I used heavy duty wire extensions.... But basically, just a simple clean setup.
So hover and TR at 1/2 throttle, go to full throttle and it pulls out aggressively.......cool...
I have so many airplanes I only fly maybe each once or twice when I go out... so 2 - 10 minute flights, checking batteries between flights is all I fly this one so I don't need more battery capacity.
