Does nitro models sell servos that would work for elevator and rudder.

Hey Smokey,
Just curious, how much did you pay for your Bobcat at the WRAM show?

I actually fly 35% gassers. This plane required smaller than standard size servos. I didnt feel like spending alot of money on hitec servos. Thats why i am asking if Nitro has cheaper alternatives.

You should check out your local hobby shop...have you flown before, or is this your first plane??

Hitec servos are already some of the least expensive available. $21 for nylon gear 225 and if you use a Tower Hobbies discount even less. Otherwise take your Exacto and cut a hole large enough for whatever you have on hand.

I had a crap load of standard servos laying around and didn't feel like buying 4 mini servos for the tail so i just took the dremel out and made the servos holes to fit the plane for 4 standard servos and it came out fine...

I used standard servos in the rear myself, and CG was good with an OS 46 - no extra weight needed. I know light flies better, but the finance minister (Wife) said "NO MONEY"
Wish I had a MW44, this thing screams for a turbine (again, NO MONEY). I'd put my T-500 on it, but then I'm afraid I would be too heavy - plus, how to get 50 ounces of fuel in there...

Smokey,
Mine flys great with the YS46 on an untuned pipe. This should about equal the performance of the OS. So far, I've only flown mine off grass.

I fly off Pavement, and I think it would do OK off grass as well. My power is a little down, because of altitude here near the mountains (4400')

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
Almost finished with mine. Been doing this slowly, reading all the posts, and following everones progress, trials, failures and successes. I thank all for the detailed input. Made my decisions much easier.
Made all mods that were mentioned in article in International Jet Mag.
Sheeted surfaces and added flaps, springair retracts, brakes, elevator servo in tailplane, hard blocks for booms, etc. Used a total 8 servos. Elecrtonic brake valve, I am just doing the final install of propane, fuel valves and fuel pump. the components for the turbine are small so room has been no problem, just spent alot of time on internal layout. For looks and weight distribution. Weights in at 9lbs 1 oz. Power is a SimJet 700 at 8lbs thrust. 32 oz fuel. Balance so far is on the mark that everyone has deceided on.
I hope to have this ready to fly at the upcoming "South Florida Jet-Together." (see posts in Jet Forum)
I have photographed progress and steps made for this conversion. If anyone is interested, or if a lot are interested, perhaps I can post a "how to" on RC Universe.
Of course it hasen't flown yet, maybe I should wait
Again, Thank you all for your information.

I have my receiver battery in the same place, right behind the nose wheel block. I am using a larger receiver battery (1400 milliamp nicad), I wanted extra battery because it's driving 8 servos.

I'm using a 5-cell 2100 mah NIMH that weighs 5 oz. I wanted extra battery for the same reason and the 6 volts gives the servos a little more speed and torque. Still seems odd that you were able to balance with 4 standard servos in the tail. Is your CG around 10.5"?
