rotostart with lcg tvp's
I have the extended(1 1/2") fast lane machine lcg chassis. Now I am told the rotostart will not work due to the engine sitting lower in the chassis. Anyways thinking of buying my buddies RB928 to put in my savage to help power it after the chassis weight gain. Anyone know of a rotostart that will fit on the RB that exits out the side instead of the back? Or for that matter another engine that has a rotostart that exits on the side instead of the back. I did see the one on the link below but my buddy's willing to cut me a deal on the rb. He bought the 928 put it in his buggy found out he couldnt control it on the race track and took it out, so its like new.

I ran a k4.6 using the FLM ext. lcg's with no problem. I did have nova towers too, so that helped not having the cross supports that the plastic do. I also ran a Mach 28 with a Losi Spin starter with them also with no problem.
There always is the Tiger Drive that are available for just about every engine out there too. They are the same hex type shaft as the losi

It all depends on what shock towers and bulkheads you have. Here is what HPI says about their LCG chassis.
For the original Savage this set requires the use of a pullstarter engine, engines with Roto Start are not compatible. This set can be used with the Savage X and a pullstarter or Roto Start engine, slight trimming of the Savage X plastic roll hoop is required.

Since the FLM are 1.6 inches extended it makes up for the drop of the engine. What I am saying is that the shaft can be used with the FLM EXT. LCG's because the added length decreasses the angle it has to go in on.
Am I making sense? I'm confusing myself a little...

What about the FLM's non extended ones? These: "FLM 4.7mm Low CG TVPs" - "Will not work with Rotosart requires modification". What kind of modifications do they mean? I tried mailing Fastlane to get some answers but with no luck (haven't recieved a mail yet).
Im kind of new to this, bought my savage x this monday. I just know that with a extended tvp the truck gets a wider turning radius and that must be considered as something negativly. Then on the other hand what are the pros with having extended tvp's?

It's all pros aidE.... It does not make your turning that much wider... if you want you can use lighter diff oil to make up for it, or shave your knuckles....
I would and have gave up a few extra inches in turn radius for a 100% more stable and better handling truck anyday
OK.... Nick... put your ego away...

RE: rotostart with lcg tvp's
on my X with Chronic's LCG plates, I can rotostart my Savage just fine.
All i need to do is NOT put the starter shaft THROUGH the rear bumper, but above it, and go through the same hole in the rear shock tower that you normally do to get to the rotostart.
