Default what pipes not to get?

I have a tmaxx with a 3.3 and i am looking to upgrade to a better pipe to let it breath a little better. now what im wondering is what pipes should i not get. i have looked at all kinds of threads of whose pipe is the best and my truck with this is faster than this truck with this pipe but i feel like im going in circles cause in one thread one pipe is amazing to all who post and then the next it is being bashed. so if everyone could post up personal experiences of pipes that sucked and for what reason they did. im starting to feel that each of the big name pipes like THS, trinity, MIP, traxxas, fantom.... will hold its own for the most part but i want to know the ones to absolutely avoid. thanks

The resignator sucks and so does the mip on. Tsais, THS, fantom, and trinity pipes are all exalent. Vantages aare allso verry good, but they also sound compleatly diferent, it makes it softer, and less pingy and high pitched, try it and see waht i mean.

is a steel fantom pipe really that impressive because its made of steel because if steel was that much better in the pipe industry for nitro then wouldnt everyone make a steel pipe? no one does but them so what makes them so special. just a htought i had in my quest for pipe knowledge.

Dude, the TSais dual exhaust is the best exhaust i have found for the 2.5r engines, it also runs extreamlly well with a 3.3. Trust me, tsais is the best small block exhuast makers out there. They make great products and they last forever!

i had some sort of dual outlet rear mounting type of pipe. i forget which brand. sounded louder and i really couldnt tell any performace difference. definitely did a good job of reducing the greasy mess on the bottom of the truck, which was why i got it in the first place. but i ran the truck withouth the body once and somehow flipped it over on a big rock pile and it totally smashed the pipe ruined it. oh well fun while it lasted (about 10 minutes )

I should be getting my Sirio Trinity pipe any day now, from what I hear it makes a ton of torque, (lap times are made in the corners).
The THS pipe should also be very good but more for the top end, and if I was you I would stay away from those dual output pipes, from what hear they really suck. (sirio big bore is supposed to be good for torque, it's what im getting)

I'm waiting for my traxxas blue tuend pipe anyday now too. The THS i hear is amazing same with the fantom. I'm not to sure on tsais i haven't heard much of them. I'd get the ths if you have money but if you don't then i'd get the trinity pipe or the traxxas blue tuned pipe. I'm not positive on how much the big bore costs but i'm almost positive its not expensive. You can get a used ths for around 25 on ebay and a new fantom for about the same too.

does the Traxxas blue tuned pipe point down through the chassis or does it go out on the side like the stock. I am looking for one that goes down.

it can go both. Most pipes that are meant to go like the stock one is positioned can go through the hole. All you need is a longer header like the mip one. Then you just point it down.

what would be the difference between an angled pipe or a straight one. RD logics offers both for the 2.5 and the angled one is more money .

i wouldn't get that. For that money you could get a nice ths pipe. Or maybe for lil more a vantage carbon fiber pipe for the maxx.

One hard rear landing and you will find out, but over all the RD rear pipes don't seem to give good power.

I know im a little late but to be honest i hate when people ask where can i get this where can i get that? The answer to those questions is right in front of their eyes. Either look on ebay, towerhobbies, amainhobbies, or horizonhobbies, or even ask your lhs to order it if its that hard.

I'm not just picking on tman but a lot of people are like that.
now tman to answer your last question if i were you i would spend the extra 10.00 and get a vantage. They look real good. Either that or save about 30-40 dollars and get a ths off ebay. You won't be dissapointed with any. Heres a link to the vantage one.
