RE: help please
YEH???????, that exhuast is weird, and the heatsink is (for a car)
what, make model, where did you buy it. how old is it
the neede(screw) with the brass sleeve, is the HSN (high speed needle), turn this clockwise until you can feel it getting tight STOP there, turn it back(anti-clockwise) 2 1/2 turns so that it is almost level with the sleeve, this is "factory settings for almost all engines....correct me if im wrong.
try starting it now

RE: help please
I think its one of those chineese knock-offs, but not smartech.
When does it shut off? Does it start then dies when you remove glow plug igniter, then I think its running rich, turn the HSN about 90 degrees clockwise, then try again.
How about idle setting? Remove the air filter and check carb opening, adjust the idle screw (under the air filter) to at least have a 1 mm gap. You can also try adjusting the throttle trim to give it a little gas when starting.

RE: help please
90 degrees is too much of an adjustment. think of the needle as a clock. turn it ahead one hour and give it a try. If that doesn't work try another hour.

RE: help please
ok well first you need to go to factory settings....and thats a smartech just upgraded some....ok first thing to get to factory settings is turn the highspeed needle(the biggest screw) in till it doesnt want to turn in anymore just dont force it to tighten when it begins to get hard to turn stop....now back it out 2 1/2 to 3 turns out.....then screw in the idle screw(the one under the airfilter) the same way till it begins to get tight the back it out 1 to 2 turns.....then you need to screw in the lowspeed needle(one the side of the carb where the arm and throttle linkage connects) turn it till it begins to get hrad to turn and back it out 1 to 2 turns out....make sure you dont force the screws to tighten to much when tightening them! now your at factory settings...now if you see fuel coming out of the muffler turn in the biggest screw (highspeed needle) at 1/8 turns till you get a good trail of smoke....adjust your trim on your remote to get desired idle and adjust the idle screw if needed....then take it and from a complete stop gun it....if it bogs out turn your lowspeed needle(on the side of the carb) in at 1/16 turns till it stops bogging out also if it stalls when you brake...turn your idle screw in till it stops and if it starts to rev high because of the idle screw settings adjust your trim(on the remote) hope it helps you

RE: help please one more thing
ok well take off the airfilter....and see if the carb is even adjusted right....it has to be 1.5mm or 1.0 mm gap in the carb at the nutral position(not puching the throttle and trim set in the middle....because if your carb isnt right then it wont work at all.....and if it boggs out...either adjust you trim or lean it out(turn the biggest screw in...also try turning in your lowspeed needle(by the carb) in 1/16 turns if it started for a little bit your on the right track....just take patenice and tinkering if it is bogging out try to adjust the screws if it still bogs out then adjust your carb or trim....the carb gap on a smartech .15cx is crutial....took me 2 days of fooling with my carb before it was set right....and also if you leave the glow plug ignitor on till it warms up that will help stop it bogging out

RE: help please one more thing
did you?!!! great man way to go...is it running good or you need to tune a lil better....and ok....trim is kinda like a "choke" when you start it...you want to set it so it will rev high..makes it easier to start....once it gets running get the wheels off the ground and adjust your trim till they stop spinning but dont let it die...if it dies...you idle is too low you want it to sit there not go on its own if it is kinda wanting to take off pull back on the trim till it sits there....but these things arent really ment to idle so when it is at "peak" preformance....it may just die at idle after a while from it being hot while idling because these things dont have a coolant system they get hot quick...and when they get hot they die.......sometimes your trim and idle can be very tricky to get just right....you will get better over time i promise....just takes practice.
