I would go with either the revo or the savage.they are both great cars and have a good speed. A revo can reach 50+ but a savage will do around 40+. The revo has gotten a lot of awards and good ratings for price and durability. I would go with the revo, better choice.

Are you going to be bashing or racing? Are you going to be running off road or on? If you are going to be running off road top speed is not what you want. I know you said RTR but kits are much better and you wind up with a LOT better end result. If you read most forms state Savage is very durable. If you are will to go for the best I say Savage 4.6 SS!!!!!!!!!!

if you are going bashing get a savage. if racing ss 4.6. i know it is more $$ but the lst(losi super truck) might be nice as it has great stock radio gear which you can program for other trucks. are you a noob by the way?

generally stick away from schumachers. it seems that every time i hit a bumb something brakes. MT's(monster trucks) are strong but expensive and quite big. for your 1st car i would go for an onroad car(car park racer style) then you could hop it up over time and make it stronger and faster. there is a review of the duratrax streetforce GP2, it is a ready to run but it might be a bit complicated and a bit to fast for a noob.

Seems like every poll I have seen the Savage comes out on top. 4.6 SS would be a much better truck then the RTR 25!

You wind up with a much better truck if you build it. You all so know how to work on it from putting it to gather. It does not take that long and it is easy. My first nitro was a RTR and buy the time I hoped it up I had more in it then what I could have built it right to begin from a kit. Since then including my Savage I have built the last two and have a much better truck to begin with. I guess it depends is if you want the best right off the bat? Each to there own.

If you buy a Traxxas make sure you have a good quick place to get parts. You will need them. HPI is much better. Just check the polls. I have 3 HPI off road vehicles and after wasting my money on other brands I am HPI all the way!!!!!!!!
Just my opinion but like I said check the polls here and on other forms! Savage always on top.

dont get me wrong, i love building. i am 3/4 of the way through a car. sure it is a great way to learn how but some people are to lazy or see it as an easy way to get into the hobby, but then when it brakes they dont know what to do. thats how i got a free car. the guy thought it would be simple like a toy but he could barely start it so he gave it to me!

wow i am amazed that nobody mentioned this yet. look at the XTM Mammoth. it will do 50+, and has as far as i can see, plenty of durability.

^ What He Said

I think I'm gonna sell my X-C and get a Mammoth. Looks to me like the only thing it reall needs is some tower support and a brace to strengthen it

Why I would choose Mammoth...

-It's huge, Makes the Revo look like a little toy. (This is good because I want to be able to climb and go thru anything)

-2.6 HP! I can put bigazz tires on it and lower gearing if I have to, Its got the top speed to spare.

-Lots of hopups. Put a roll cage on it and put lots of money into it for Alum. and braces and what not, and it'll be indestructable.

-55MPH!

- 4WD, Reverse, 2 SPD FWD.

- 4 hundred and some CC gas tank (475 ?) (How much run time with this thing?)

-I've heard ots of good things about it, the only bad thing is about the chassis bending and week shock towers, but that can be fixed.

Ill never go back to ST's.

GO BIG !!! GO MAMMOTH !!!

Mark
