Sounds like it will be a great project. The A-10 is an outstanding airframe!!!

Here is a link to Model Airplane News and an address for the plastic parts from Mr. Keith Sparks. The article in Model Airplane News has Mr. Keith Sparks contact info.

http://www.modelairplanenews.com/plan/fsp0701a.asp

PARTS
Yes, I still make the parts. The article said that the parts will cost $30, there is a problem. The white plastic that was used is polystyrene,$7 per sheet. The problem is that after it is exposed to fuel and vibration it cracks after around 10 to 15 flights, this just wont do. The article is 3 years old and so is the plane. After trying different mounting designs; I had to switch to PETG plastic for the cowl. that's $19 per sheet.
1 set = 4 cowl halves, 2 upper and lower wheel wells, The round part at the aft tip of the fuselage. the instrument panel, cockpit seat and canopy. So the bad news is that I have to charge $40 for the parts plus $4 shipping I'm sorry for the price change, I'd rather apologize for the price rather than the parts.
TO ORDER THE PARTS
Send a $44 check or money order ( m.o. is faster) to:

The more I see of that plane the more it really makes me want to build it. I have some old plans that I bought like 20 years ago that is designed for a .60 2 stroke to be mouned in the nose. I've thought about building it, but when I saw these plans with the twin .25's in the engine pods and decided not to. I'd like to see more pictures of the build and the finished plane if possible. I assume looking at the posted pictures that it is designed with fixed landing gear, but do you think there is enough room in the wing pods for small retracts?

Yes as a matter of fact it normaly needs nose weight. I spoke with Keith Sparks and he said retracts would be fine. Keith was very informative and the plastics that I got from him were very nice.

Way cool...

I am building the same plane also. I am stuck in a couple of places. I'd appreciate your friend answering them if possible?

Where do doublers D1 and D2 go and when do you glue them on?

Here are some pictures of mine with retract positions as I figured them.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Sina

the following is from Keith Sparks F.A.Q. list if you would like all the F.A.Q. i can email them to you. hope this helps

How does D1 and D2 fit?
D-2 is a little smaller and fits against D-1.
This extra balsa was needed so you can sand a radius in the fuselage just aft of the canopy and forward of former 4 (F-4).
Personaly I preffer to use wood workers glue because CA causes hard spots in the skin and shows through when you monocote. I used allot of "T" pins to hold the doublers in place while the glue dried.

Thanks. I have the same FAQ from Keith, but still can't figure out if I am suppose to glue D1/D2 to the skin before bending it around or after? If after, then does it go on the inside? thanks, Sina

I dunno Freddie, it looks poorly and cheaply built! (private joke folks, no actual insult)
Hope to see it fly soon.

Mr. Richard said he trashed d1 and d2 and made his own pieces. They fit on the top of the plane right below the pilot. He also added a piece of stock balsa below them so he had something to glue it to. whew! hope this helps

Any updates?

Also, does anyone know any of the laser cutters that will cut the parts for this plan?

You can buy the "short-kit" from this guy for $95 http://www.tanks-hangar.com/Store/store.html

I ended up doing my own.

I picked up one of the two .25Fx n eBay. Looking for the second one. I got as far as aligning all the parts to install. Taking my time as I tend to mess up at this stage.

Will post pictures on my other thread as I will be covering soon.

well the plane was in a severe crash due to one engine flaming out! Mr. Richard Guidroz rebuilt it with one engine and it fly's nicely. I'll get some pictures up soon
