It means Megahertz which is a measure of frequency over time, specifically the number of cycles per second. For RC's It is the frequency upon which the transmitter transmits and the receiver is tuned to receive. Transmitters transmit data using some modulation technique partnered with a carrier frequency. FM and AM are examples of modulation techniques. So, when a radio is a 27MHz AM radio, it is transmitting an amplitude modulated signal at 27MHz.
