Default The most fun $44.00 will get you!

I know the E-flite Ultimate profile has a quadrillion threads so far, but it is worth bringing to life again. There are so many new 3D guys looking for that first foamy to get into. This airplane has kinda fallen into the shadows with the emerging of all the newer planes. I have had so many foamies I am embarrassed to think about it. This one is still the go-to/fall back-on,etc.etc. airplane. It flies great and is very durable. So there you go little fellow looking for a cheap 3D thrill.

Heh...yeah.
Given the right set-up, this old bird is still a performer. It does really well outdoors.

The one I had had a BP-21 in it. Its long gone now...it was back when I was just getting into the foamy craze. I flew it through a powerline, and blew it to pieces.
It was a good flying airplane though.

Beenie~ I am using the run of the mill Himaxx 2812-0850 and a 12/6 slow flyer or a 10/4.7. The only thing I made sure I did was the re-inforce motor mount mod. See pic. Also, I used some spare E-Flite servo arms as pushrod guides. The motor torque will twist the motor mount free. Its the whole Newton action/reaction thing going on. Other than that, I built it per the manual and it flies great.

EDIT: I used popsicle sticks for the motor mount and left over stickers from the kit to hide the bare wood.

How well did it fly with the BP-21 ? Hovering and verticle ? Which pack did you use ?
