the big question, what should I get
I started in the sport in the late 90's, got a good bit of experience over the years, and basically quit when I got out of high school. I've been flying at the field a little here and there, but I still find myself too busy to drive that far with any regularity. I want a park flyer. These things werent really around when I stopped flying, and Ihaven't followed the electric movement since (and boy have they gotten popular! Iremember when the piccolo was the only electric heli around, now you can get a great flying heli $140 plug and play.. silly!) Ihave no idea whats good and what isn't, so Ifigured I would consult the experts. Here is what i'm looking for:
I was getting into 3d flying back then (like everyone else was ) , so I definetely want a 3d capable plane (lots of vertical, big control surfaces for rolling harriers and other high alpha stuff). Slow flight stability is a must.
I'd also like something that will mellow out on low rates. Something with a wide envelope (slow/floaty/can fly in my backyard or fast/precise/can fly in the parking lot down the road). Isaw a parkzone t28 fly and liked the size/speed size of the model, but it obviously lacked much 3d capability.
Ialso don't want a 'plug n play' like the T28. Ihave my old transmitters, so just an ARF foamie that I can have RTF (batteries, chargers, servos, rx, etc) for around $200
Sell me a plane and i'll buy you a beer
thanks everyone

RE: the big question, what should I get
If you would bump up what you are willing to pay by about $100, then you would be PLEASED with any of the following acft. I have had several foam acft. They were nice. But move up to any of these and you will never look back. These are another ball game.

RE: the big question, what should I get
I'm on a tight budget right now, the cheaper the better. Ifound a guy who showed me how to build a flat foam plane (he is letting me use the templates for the one he was flying) and its looking like everything will cost about $100.. can't beat that with a stick, and if you do, $10 in foam will replace it
jumper666, any chance you're a satanic skydiver?

Adam ... I have a friend who build his own foamies and he uses all the cheap bits for it BUT he can fly it like a well trained 3D puppy. I envy him! So cheap can be tons of fun that will be the envy of many.
Anyways, jumper is not a devil skydiver ... all sky divers are dare devils hence the 666 denotes them well ... hehehehee

Foamies are the best way to fly cheap.
If you search around you can find free plans to download.
check out hobbyking.com for lots of good low price electric goodies.
I've bought from them lots of times. Great prices on lipo batteries. can't beat their prices.
