Default RC Tx's/Rx's-what Freq is best?

My 2.4 gHz Tx died, so I'm looking for a replacement. I see units in 1.2, 2.4, 900, etc. Which is better, or best, range for RC, and why? Seems like the cost is higher for the higher numbers, or is it just the units I'm looking at. Price ranges seem to be all over the scale too, as well as some of the Asian stuff claiming 3000mw. I've had my stuff for years, and then, there wasn't much miniature stuff on the market. Any thoughts? Bill

You can get good quality equipment for good prices at www.rangevideo.com

There is a lot of garbage out there, so never buy the cheap ebay stuff. 2.4 is the easiest frequency to use, lots of it available. Go with the 1000 mw if you have 12 volts on your plane, the more power the better. 900 is also good, but harder to solve intereference problems sometimes, but it penetrates objects better, and goes further for the amount of power.
