RE: PAU 100cc Extra 300 Sp Build
I started final assembly today. That means all metal to metal connections will get locktite.
I straightened up the cooling vents I put in for the cans. Now I'm happy with it.
The choke setup on this carb has a spring return and a positive throttle stop for starting the engine. I got used to and started liking this setup on my 28cc so I kept it that way.

Just had a chance to go back and look at some of your build pics. Have to agree with Bob, that is really a nice looking plane and you have done a nice job of putting it together. Wish I had your skill and patience. I am sure this will be an excellent flyer, as your other PAU plane sure flies well. Good luck with it.

I got the Ignition and the IBEC hooked up. New IBEC. It works with any type of batterie or voltage.
I worked on making pig tails to charge my A-123s and a new connector for my volt meter. I lost the old voltmeter connector. H-9 Don't sell a replacement.
Thats a 25% Sboch sitting behind the canopy.

Well guys this is it for construction. The last of it was the fuel lines. Now I just have to finish setting the ailerons in the radio and get the spinner so I can balance it.
This is also the first time I saw the whole plane put together.

I got the balancer down on the floor and put the plane on it to see where I'll have to put the batteries. I found out that I had to mount a rail in the back of the fuse. This way I'll be able to make some fine adjustments once I get it in the air. You won't have to do this with a lighter engine.

RE: PAU 100cc Extra 300 Sp Build
I got the No Limitz Spinner in the mail today from PAU. This is a fiberglass spinner with a lightened aluminum backplate that is super light. I like the looks of them.
I proceeded on making a template and cutting it out. Had to locate the prop first on the backplate and drill the mounting holes in it. Then I made up a cardboard template to clear the prop. I actually made two templates one for the outside clearance and then I made a second one for the inside clearance. To me its easier to do that then try to make one fit the first time.

Great Job Tom!!
Great Job Tom!!
What I forgot to mention is that I got the box with the spinner in it at 4:30 pm. I was finished by 6 pm. It didn't take long at all using the template method.

There is a very good how to article on FG. under PAU Support Threads. Cutting a "No Limitz" Spinner. It is written by CSpaced. This is a must read if you are going to cut spinners yourself.

I got the 50cc Extra down off the shelf today and stuck it next to the 100cc to show a friend that came over to look at the planes.

RE: PAU 100cc Extra 300 Sp Build
I decide to use what I saw a guy do on a PAU 43% Edge. It was these 9 pin connectors that they use on computers. I really don't like the wires hanging out of the wing and at the most inopportune time they fall inside the wing and have to be fished out. These plugs solve that problem and it idiot proofs the plug in process. By reversing the plug from Lt. to Rt. Male on one side. Female on the other. You can't plug them in backwards. Another benefit is that you don't have to keep unplugging the connectors on the Smart Fly. I'm treating the Smart fly like I usually treat the Receiver. For Single ailerons I use a short extension to plug and unplug the Servo leads. This is the same principal but with one connector connecting two servos. The connections are real tight so I had to put some Screws onto the plug so that I had some leverage to unplug the connector.
I mounted the batteries under the rail I put in to keep them out of the way.
